Smth we ignore abt Rev Putty a little too much is that he is still incredibly homophobic, even after accepting Stephanie as his daughter. It’s almost like he sees her as an exception to his rule and at the start he even asked her to hide the fact that they are related because of who Stephanie is, “we don’t have to tell anyone abt this” or whatever he said. I’d like to think that he becomes less bigoted towards others as a result of spending more time with Stephanie and maybe even sees the harm that he indirectly causes to Stephanie by pushing certain values as a person who has a lot of authority over the way people think in moralton

I just remembered smth. At the end of the show in Honor when Putty tells Orel to go to Danielle to learn to respect his father is shows that he not only knows about and isn’t upset with Danielle’s relationship with Clay but it also shows that he’s comfortable enough with their relationship and (hidden) identity as two queer guys to suggest that Orel go’s to one of them for guidance

Putty slowly coming to accept others was becoming a part of his character and not just and exception for Stephanie. We could’ve gotten to see that change a little more, which makes it all the more sad that the show got canceled :(
