A small and vague peak at what could be the cover of your story for the next Novel! Yes it's going to happen! Yes the aesthetics and topic have slightly changed since the last img update

I'd also like to add a little more context to the previous poll about poly-ships: The novel will still be focused on Zukka! Nobody will be forced to create anything involving a poly-ship, meaning there may not be any of it if nobody's interested in creating it. All it means is that I'd like to open the OPTION for people to create romantic stories with Zuko/Sokka/Suki for example. Otherwise other characters were already allowed to appear previously in platonic relationships or mentions of past-relationships!

May I present:

ZUKKA DOORS TO ANYWHERE (still a concept)

In similar vein to 2022's Novel it'll have the opportunity for connected stories / referencing each other's writing because I really enjoyed that one (and I'd like to think everyone else did too) (o゜▽゜)o☆ I've ditched the idea of making it based on Supernatural, but SPN AU's are, of course, welcome. Instead it's going to be a general horror/thriller/supernatural theme. Aesthetically old-school horror, but all timelines are okay. If there are already any questions or suggestions, feel free to send an ask or DM.

It's only been around 24 hours but I have slept on it and seen a few responses, and I gotta agree a general monster theme would be much better! The way I'd handle the show AU would ultimately be the same thing so it may as well be just that! But I'll keep the form as is for now, anyway! Just know nothing's fully decided yet c:

This is avery general interest check of the new Novel and the theme vaguely based on the show Supernatural. It'll determine if we'll return at all and what theme we'll have. You have options to also suggest your theme ideas if the one given doesn't interest you at all!

When he first met Sokka, he wanted to smack him for the arrogance that seemed to emanate from him. Zuko won’t say his confidence wasn’t earned; Sokka and a second-year tech, Teo, are responsible for the development of NASA’s anti-gravity technology (accomplished while still in graduate school). He’d been streamlined through the interview process, aced his space tests with flying colors, and had the added bonus of impressing Piandao enough within a week of working there that the man had hand-written him a recommendation letter when it came time to choose candidates for TUI-84’s mission to explore plant sustainability in different atmospheric conditions. According to Aunt Wu, Director Jeong Jeong had been so shocked at Piandao’s interference that he hadn’t even bothered considering other technicians. He was one of the youngest first-year candidates NASA had ever considered for a space mission to actually get the job. - Sokka is the youngest space engineer to be sent to outer space. Zuko is the ground control member assigned to track him. Falling in love wasn't part of the mission, but it happened anyway.

Hello World of The Zukka

I wanted to apologize for the utter silence on here since applications closed. We've all been doing our creative things and the actual formatting of the Novel will begin very soon!

I admit that this year has been very lack-luster on my part due to life really kicking my creative drive in the balls, but I was too stubborn to see it and didn't want to give up on the Novel just yet. And I won't fully give up either! This year will of course be completed like previous years, I'm not dropping anything. But I will definitely change the way this event works for the years to come!

I'll be steering away from any sign-ups and discord servers. I can give a more in-depth process once I have everything figured out, but a quick overview;

I'll reveal a theme

Authors have the chance to submit their work directly within a few months

Their stories will be (anonymously) presented publicly

Artists of any kind and caliber can then pick their favorite paragraph(s) of a story and draw something within a few months

Those paragraphs will be made available for public as well before the drawing starts so other artists can see which parts are taken, and which aren't, to avoid having duplicates!

No check-ins or harsh deadlines

There'll be forms ready for easy drop-out for any or no reason at any given time!

I hope this makes sense. It guarantees that stories won't have to be dropped halfway through and gives them more opportunities for art accompanying the writing. It also saves everyone from the anxiety of deadlines for check-ins, constant communication and needing acceptable excuses for dropping out (although I've always accepted them, I know the struggle and pressure to FEEL like you need it! <3). You'll still have the option to get in touch with eachother if you prefer input of the writer.

Hello! I saw you're looking for more authors and thinking of extending the timeline. I (a single person so only so much help lol) would be able to join if the timeline was pushed back, I really like the theme I just don't have the bandwidth for a new project until mid January. Not to pressure one way or another, just saying if you're thinking about it you'd get one haha

Hello there! I can't say right now how far I will extend the schedule but end of May minimum! It can always change if all participants come to an agreement :) We've been fairly flexible with dates before. * I forgot to add the Summary Submissions can be extended as well, for which you don't need a solid outline yet, just a concept you want to stick with.

I'd be more than happy to see you join, but also don't want to make false promises.
