Sokka's Death

Does anyone else have the headcannon that Sokka died during the red lotus attack when Korra was 5? Thats the last canon appearance we know of from him. Also all the adults in LOK are absolutely terrified of the red lotus and what they're capable of. I feel like this would make a lot of sense if they were the ones responsible for Sokka's death.

Hey @ Netflix,

The story of ATLA isn’t focused on romantic love. Please don’t make it about that. I don’t care about the love triangle between Zuko, Katara, and Aang. I care about the story and the meaning behind it. I enjoy the individual characters. I enjoy how Zuko comes from a troubled past, how Katara and Sokkas lives were affected by the lost of their mom- how Aang deals with the loss of his civilization. Please don’t make this all about romantic love. This is all unnecessary fan service and if this was a contribution as to why the creators left the live action series, then I can tell you that they left for a completely valid reason. Please respect the creators and their wishes throughout the show. This was just downright disrespectful and saddening to hear.

Legend of Korra is hated on cause it reminds people that life goes on which means there’ll always be a new Avatar, and while Aang had the rest of his life that could’ve potentially been turned into a pt2 show, it literally goes against the message of the show that the world is a cycle of life and things keep moving. I get that it’s hard to find out that Aang favored one kid over his others but that’s just realistic parenting??? Like the Avatar isn’t perfect and I think LOK dives into that especially with Korras character.

The Avatar is the reincarnation of past lives but they are still essentially all different people and the fact that Korra is hated because she made mistakes is ignoring the reason why Avatar gets love in the first place, which is that it tackles real issues in a healthy and constructive way. Like how do you watch Korra break down and not just 100% relate when she tells Katara that she’s “just so tired”??? An opinion about the show is okay like I definitely love Aangs story better partly because of nostalgia and also because it was a very well developed show while Korras storyline was choppy and the way there was a new villan every season was not my favorite, however to say that Korra shouldn’t have been created at all is just... unnecessary.

Like I wouldn’t complain about more Aang but I liked to see the cycle of Avatar being fulfilled. And I do like Korra over Aang in some ways, maybe cause I relate to her more, but that’s just my take. I definitely don’t regret watching 4 seasons of a buff, poc, female character grow to be more mature and struggle through trauma. Do I think her story could’ve been planned better? Yes. Would I rather just not have her story at all? No, I enjoyed the representation and I’m a sucker for when she goes into boxer mode.

Things like side characters also could’ve been more developed, as much as I like Bolín... but to completely shit on Korra is just unnecessary hate like you KNOW that Iroh would be disappointed in people disregarding LOK and comparing it to ATLA instead of appreciating differences and having a CONSTRUCTIVE opinion. Besides we all should know by now that sequels are never as good as the original. Also people who refuse to even watch LOK or hate it after watching should really reflect on why they feel that way.

Top Fifteen Avatar Episodes, no I won’t be taking criticism at this time

These are the top fifteen best episodes, according to me, a person who just binged the show in three days. This is opinion but also my opinions are always right, so there.

15. The Chase

Bad ass villain girl gang chases the gaang and everyone comes together for the first time for a big ol’ fun fight which ends an emotional gut punch. Everything I ever wanted

14. The Blue Spirit

Badass mysterious guy with swords rescue’s Aang and turns out to be ZUKO??? Stunning. Makes us question who Zuko is as a character. Also, cool sword fighting

13. Tales of Ba Sing Se

Listen, you all know why this shit is here. It made you cry. It made me cry. We all cried. Let’s leave it at that

12. The Siege in the North

First major battle, high emotions, great action, soaring music. Good stuff.

11. The Beach

Villains being awkward and trying to be normal + therapy session on the beach = things I love

10. The Storm

Excellent character work. Paralleling our antagonist and hero. Diving into their deepest fears and mistakes. Stunning

9. The Day of Black Sun

Great battle plan, good showing from Azula, epic confrontation between Zuko and his trash father. The invasion was a failure but it didn’t fail to win my HEART

8. The Drill

Listen. It’s just a solidly paced episode with amazing action and it makes me cheer at the end. It’s not deep. I’m a simple girl. I like a good action movie.

7. Zuko Alone

Heart breaking. Gut wrenching. A poignant character study. 

6. The Puppet Master

Look blood bending is sick, both in the cool way and the horrifying way and also katara is a bad ass, thanks

5. The Boiling Rock

Prison breaks and Sokka x Suki and the Zuko and Sokka bromance already made this great. But that Ty Lee, Mai betrayal at the end? GOLDEN

4. The Cross Roads of Destiny

Stellar character conflicts and inner turmoil. Heart wrenching. Dramatic. Makes you want to shake Zuko while still understand why he made his mistakes. Also, Azula is a stone cold bad ass and can shoot me with lightning anytime

3. The Blind Bandit

Her name is Toph. It sounds like tough. This has one of my favorite action sequences. Toph is welcome to kick my ass. I’d thank her for it.

2. Southern Raiders

I’m a Zutara. You know why this is here.

1. Sozin’s Comet, the four part finale.

Listen, I like good endings. I like endings that do the characters justice. I like happy endings that are earned through suffering. So this finale is great. Zuko and Katara vs Azula is still one of the best fights to ever happen. Aang’s final show down with the Fire lord is stunning. The White Lotus going to town is breath taking. Zuko and Aang hug and the balance is restored. Love it. Best episode. 10/10

And that’s it. The correct and definitive ranking. Honorable mention: the Waterbending scroll. Because I am, as I said, Zutara trash.

The lion turtles were how humans became benders, but they didn’t teach the humans anything. It was the dragons, badger moles, the sky bison and the tides that actually taught humans how to bend.
