My apologies f!or my tardiness/otherwise lack of activity I’m moving out of my house to go to university on the 23rd of September and have been spending time with family and friends! Time is scarce right now but I intend on getting to this list as soon as possible!

Nurf took the bar of chocolate, chomping the bar he has right after sitting down. It’s true that likes attention- loved it even, but there was something else that made him tick that day at the child. However, today was different. He looked very, very crestfallen today due to some memories. Then, he heard Ziggy ask the question. Normally he would’ve told him to ‘shut the fuck up and mind your business’, but he didn’t have it in him. Instead, he lets out a huge sigh.
“..I’m just depressed,” he said. He seems to be a bit lost in his thoughts, but he snaps out of it to speak more. He didn’t want to tell him why, he kept that to himself. “Yeah, just depressed.” He shrugged while eating. “It happens. Don’t worry about it. I’ll just try to smoke or cut myself later until I get over it. No big deal.” He rolls his eyes. “Chocolate is just the closest thing for me to cope with right now.”

DEPRESSED?! Now Ziggy had never been able to apprehend such a word though he had heard it been thrown back and forth on the rare occasion, particularly in camp. This time was different somehow, however, Nurf actually seemed to be sincere about this. Whatever the meaning of this word depressed-the true purpose of it still unbeknown to the blond even now-it was not a good thing. Especially as the older, broader boy seemed to be down on his luck too.
Ziggy can only offer a blank stare at the cutting and smoking remark, he is still naive and this behaviour is still foreign to him despite being exposed to it all summer as the other campers seemed to posses a similar more blackened and mature outlook on their lives and past. Ziggy comes from a far more comfortable background, having been wrapped in bubble-wrap, metaphorically, all of his life. Again in spite of his lack of understanding he can still grasp that neither of these things are a healthy way to vent these unpleasant feelings of Nurf’s.
❝I don’t think hurting yourself is the answer there. Camp Counselor David says that violence is never the answer.❞ Did the other children listen to the elders here? It didn’t seem plausible but referring to one of their teachings seemed to be the only logical thing to go to. I’ve got plenty more chocolate where that came from! ❝Hey, I know! Do you want to share some Dunkin Donuts with me? My Mom sent them over in a package! They’re in my tent!❞

Was the kid talking about his… his shifting? What aDAMNED mistake he made. Seeing the little squirt as a Felicid going after a dropped piece of candy in the middle of the street?? He knew he didn’t have the body size to save him from the oncoming van. If he did that he would’ve been the pancake beneath the wheel, so… He made the grand decision of shifting right before he grabbed the kid. To his luck the boy glanced up just to see him do it in time. Which wasn’t so bad since adults wouldn’t believe him anyway, and there wasn’t much of an audience for his ‘ heroic ’ act anyways. Now he simply had to deal with a kid who understandably wanted to know how to shift.
The tall, statured man still wasn’t at eye-level with the boy even when he had a knee down. His fist curled and pressed against the pavement. Heavy breaths panting lumberingly from his lips, he finally addressed the kid. “ Sorry, but… Shifting isn’t something you can learn, kid. I wish I could, but you’re fresh outta luck for the day. ”

Heart still pounding in his head, the adrenaline still running through every fibre of his being. That experience would scar his brain for life for certain-almost being hit by the oncoming vehicle that is. As for the latter shifting the entirety of his form? Well that was astonishing, more of a fortunate shock if you will and not so terrifying.
He almost regrets going after that piece of candy in the road’s centre.-Almost but not quite. Albeit a tad bit disappointed that he could not acquire this ‘shifting ability’ too, it does not change how much he appreciated the man’s (?) heroic act. ❝Oh! If I could shift I would shift into a tiny mouse and I would have been able to scatter fast enough to dodge that car!❞
Advancing another step to close the distance between himself and the panting man, he speaks up again in that shrill voice of his. ❝Thank you for saving me, Mr...?...Well thank you for saving me anyway! My name is Ziggy! -Uh, are you supposed to do that? The shifting thing, I mean? Is it a secret! Oh no! I’m not good with secrets! I get too excited and I share them with everyone!❞ Never intentionally of course but they did slip from his tongue.

the hero gave off a bit of a sigh, bending over slightly in his seat to reach a more leveled height to his admirer. sportacus has gone through this conversation many times with the children at least once, but he wasn’t upset to teach them again; it was his goal and duty to help others and support them in learning about life, especially the children!
“ziggy, i’m absolutely positive they won’t laugh at you if you fall! besides, i bet if you try a little bit at a time and believe in yourself,” sportacus paused, poking his index finger lightly against ziggy’s chest, “you can do anything you set your mind to!”
sportacus offered a small laugh, adverting his gaze back upwards at the kids, continuing at attempting their stunts. he considered his words, before grinning once more. he could always find time for the kids, he always has! “how about i watch you for now? to make you feel safe?”

In repose that was prompted by the blue-clad’s consolation, Ziggy’s face relaxes.There is a comfort in having his height matched by Sportacus, something that a parent would obligate to. ❝You really think they wouldn’t laugh at me?❞ Sportacus had never been wrong before.
Even if Sportacus had explained this to the blond time and time again, he was still learning and would find his own confidence in time thus this lesson would need to be repeated for many a time to come.
Ziggy wanted nothing more to believe in himself, the other children were far more confident in new and unfamiliar activities than himself which was why he was so easily disheartened in this situation.
A giggle sounds from the hero’s admirer when his finger pokes at his chest. ❝I can do anything I set my mind to?! I just have to believe in myself and try a little bit at a time.❞ This was the confirmation that Ziggy devoted his attention to every word the hero had spoken.
He jumps to his feet, there’s a momentary pivot so he’s facing the direction of the make-shift skate-park that the other children set up this morning. ❝Can you do that?! That would make me feel safe! Thank you, Sportacus!-Well what are we waiting for?! Come on! Lets go!❞ In this new-found confidence he grasps Sportacus’ wrist and bolts towards the aforementioned park.
