standard: the typical domestic linoone and cub, often known as zigzagoon for their bizarre first movements.

diamondback: dorsal stripe and flank stripe are connected, forming a diamond when viewed from the top. cubs have a darker mask and muzzle than the standard, and often have darker feet.

blacktip: dorsal stripe extends down to tail, face, tail, and feet solid. cubs can be differentiated from diamondbacks by a lighter mask and muzzle, and more brown on tail and feet.

spotted: a unique colour morph. several stripes along body, often accompanied by large spotting. feet and face sometimes have “freckles” of small brown spots. the cubs are unmistakable with mottled markings. 

masked: dorsal and cheek stripes combine across face to form a mask. feet and much of the upper body are dark. cubs have all dark legs, though occasional “snowshoe” variants show up in litters with white toes.

white-lined: perhaps the most striking variant of linoone in the show circuit, the “white-lined”linoone has a dark face and body with a white dorsal stripe. hind feet are typically pale, but can be dark. cubs are white with a visible black mask from birth.

I imagine Suicune is actually a kind of unicorn. It’s big crystal head thing is actually a fused horn, and unicorns are also known for their magical water purification abilities.

a happy breloom family

they often make their nests in plants known for their toxic, paralysing, or burning characteristics, of which they are immune. the spores and sap stick to their skin and feathers, providing them with much needed protection against many predators. many flying-types, being closely related to breloom, are also immune to these toxins and spores and, as a result, are the primary predators of adult breloom and their chicks, known as shroomish for their visual similarities to local mushroom populations.

the crest on their head is used primarily to clear brush in the dense forests where they live, but, along with the tightly curled feathers on their tail, they are often used in courtship displays during the breeding season. 

breloom hold their arms close to the body, hidden under their thick feathers, and this gives people the idea that they can’t punch the absolute shit out of you. they can.
