The 2025 WDC fight between Lando and Oscar will never turn ugly, and the people who want it to need to discuss their reasons with a therapist. Or at least touch grass. (Update: I WAS RIGHT, BITCHES! And I still don't think their rivalry will ever be anything but friendly and healthy.)

I will be delighted whether Oscar or Lando wins the WDC, and it breaks my heart to see either of them have a bad race. (Update: This remains true for 2026 and beyond)

I kind of want Oscar to win in 2026 so his and Lando's names will be directly above Brocedes on the WDC trophy because that would just be straight up poetry.

Lando Norris is a precious cinnamon roll and must be protected at all costs.

Landoscar brings me joy, and I don't take it *that* seriously (even if it seems like it sometimes). Mostly I just think guys should openly have crushes on their friends more often.

So fun fact bc i must get this off my chest first—Gwesped piastrii belongs to Bethylidae, a family of parasitoid wasps that are NOT eusocial at all, meaning no hive, no colony, no queen. Bethylidae are solitary parasitoids that lay their eggs inside or on the bodies of beetle and moth larvae, paralyzing them first.

so ‘piastrihive’ is biologically incorrect. ‘piastribrood’ would be the more accurate fandom designation!

what we are witnessing in this video is not a Lando fleeing a random wasp. this is Oscar (Gwesped piastrii) attempting to complete her reproductive cycle by parasitizing a host

the host appears to be Lando Norris.

the host is running but the literature suggests this rarely works.

And frankly the evidence that the parasitization was successful is overwhelming—the increased nesting behavior, the sudden interest in small humans, the Freddie content, all of it is consistent with a bethylid reproductive event occurring sometime in the 2025-2026 window🐝🐝🐝
