I think we're to a point in the new F1 season that I should update my pinned/intro post. So here are some things you can use to help decide if you'd like to follow me or disregard my opinions entirely.
I am an obligate McLaren fan in all motorsport series. I like other teams and drivers as well, particularly in IMSA and WEC, but my agenda is papaya first, then everyone else.
That said, if anyone asks me who my favorite F1 driver is, my answer is usually George Russell. Technically, Lando and Oscar tie for P1, but that is far harder to explain to most people.
Regardless, if George Russell has no supporters, I am dead.
I like Lando and Oscar individually, but they intrigue and compel me most as a pair. They are THE teammates of all time to me for reasons I have rhapsodized at length (and will likely continue). I genuinely do not have a preference for one over the other.
Even if I might seem a bit unhinged about it sometimes, I don't take the rpf side of Landoscar all that seriously. It's all in good fun, and it brings me joy, but in the end, I mostly just think guys should have openly platonic crushes on each other more often (or whatever it is they have going on). They're just genuinely so sweet with each other that it never fails to make me smile.
Even though it's basically a pipe dream at this point, I still really want to see Oscar win the 2026 WDC so his and Lando's names will be directly above Brocedes on the WDC trophy since that would just be straight up poetry.
More realistically, I would be next happiest if George won in 2026.
Kimi Antonelli is still my precious son, but I am re-examining my position that he can do no wrong. I want him to do well, but I also don't want him to be a little shit about it.
If Toto Wolff and Mark Webber have no haters, I am dead.
The 2019 rookies are very precious to me and must be protected at all costs.
Ollie Bearman will be champion one day because we must have OB1. Put that boy in a decent car ASAP.
I'm reasonably ambivalent about everyone else on the grid. I'm happy for them when good things happen for them, and I'm sad when bad things happen to them. I mostly want to see them have a good race and succeed occasionally.
Except Lance Stroll. It's honestly best if we all just pretend he doesn't exist.
