WHAT DOES THIS MEAN. i read this in polish I thought i was stupid or not mature enough or it was a language barrier but i found it in english and i still dont get it. I asked my sibling neither do they or my parenrs. Someone pease this has been haunting me for years. combs????? why combs.

It’s referencing a well known and heartwarming short story called “The Gift of the Magi”

It’s about a poor couple around Christmas who realize they don’t have enough money to buy each other gifts. The only things they have of value is the woman’s long hair, and the man’s heirloom pocket watch.

The woman sells her hair to wig shop to buy him a chain for the pocket watch, and the man sells his watch to buy the woman combs for her hair.

You’ll also note after, this is why Kendra herself is amused at what Errol is referencing. This story is assigned in plenty of literature classes in America, such as mine which is how I know.

Her basic human disguise is an attempt to be cute and warm and welcoming. She REAAAALLY likes humans so it’s important to be a peak customer service face.

When she gets excited, which is very often, the first things she fails to hide are her reptilian-like eyes, her slit tongue, and her eye color itself, red.

Her eyes and smile may get unnaturally wide…

The happier (or in some cases, more furious) she gets, the less she’s able to hide parts of her true form.

She sticks her tongue out when she’s happy too ✨
