confusing arrival.
He chuckled at her strange response, finding it somewhat amusing that she was so conflicted after being asked such a simple question. Not that he blamed her, really, she must have been terribly confused at the sudden change of scenery she had to go through. “Don’t worry,” he began, his tone teasing and lighthearted, “I’m not grading you on your answer.”
The edges of his lips curved into a small smile as she silently observed him, his gaze temporarily drifting to her wings before looking back to meet with her curious stare. The vigilante then entertained himself by mirroring her actions, tilting his head in the same direction as she did. He hoped she understood that he meant no harm, especially considering he was also a victim of the same situation— the barcode sewn into the back of his hand in red said it all.
“You got a sore throat or something..?” he asked, rather puzzled as to why she hadn’t uttered a single word. Someone who was merely shy would have mumbled quietly or giggled in embarrassment by now, he thought, or at least introduced themselves. Come to think of it, the angel here hadn’t even tried to get anyone’s attention as she stood alone in the hallway— could it be that she was truly mute?
His attention was redirected to her as he watched her nervously take hold of his hand. Blinking, he made no further movement whatsoever, not wanting to inadvertently scare her off. Her tracing of letters on his palm kind of tickled him a bit, but he knew better than to think that was her intent. Catching on rather quickly, he began to pronounce what she was trying to spell.
“Ah, I see.. N-i-l-l… Nill?”
“Is that maybe your name?”
Yay! He got it right away. That's good. She nodded eagerly.
He seemed to be a very observant person. She had a feeling that he perhaps already touched on the fact that she was mute. Maybe he wasn't sure that she was, but she thought that he had some idea about it. Well, she supposed that anyone could notice that if they met someone like her, someone who didn't and couldn't utter a single word. After all, it isn't normal, yes?
Drawing her hand back back to her side, she now wanted to know his name. Of course she couldn't just inquire about his name out loud, so she waited patiently and stared at him expectantly with a small, friendly smile. Usually, people introduce themselves once the other one does, right? So, he would understand what she's attempting to say here. Probably. Most likely. Hopefully.
As she waited for a brief moment, she decided that she did want to make some new friends here and this was a fine start to begin with. It's actually lonely here, she realized with a sudden thought, without Haine, Naoto, Badou, the Bishop, and the rest. Actually, the soundless angel had no idea if they were here too or not -- for all she know, they could be -- but nevertheless, she haven't seen them yet. So, for now, she will assume that she doesn't know anyone here. That makes her recall her past when she used to be all alone in this world and she definitely doesn't like that. It was a miserable experience -- always getting chased by gangs who wanted her just to sell her to random, cruel customers for that dirty money. She wasn't needy person, but she did appreciate the pleasant company of others. It keeps her sanity too, since communicating in her own way to her dear friends helps her to not always think too much about anything and basically, talk to herself in an alarming way.
This stranger was obviously someone who would be a good friend as well. He doesn't know her, but he haven't done anything rude and horrible to her, which she was truly grateful of. Nill had to admit she was afraid of strangers, because most of the strangers she met went for her wings that doesn't even offer her the ability to fly. But this person had made her somehow at ease already. It was most likely because he was already being nice to her, making a joke at first and using a gentle tone of voice. He definitely wasn't hunting for her useless, white wings either.
She didn't know him yet, but she was glad that she encountered him instead of someone who might be vulgar to her.

confusing arrival.
Unamused by his sudden relocation to an isolated hospital he wasn’t aware existed, Yuri set out to explore the blank walled halls without the slightest hesitation. The situation was, simply put, beyond his comprehension. The former knight didn’t even understand what the computer in his room did, nevermind the advanced technology Bethlehem Royal consisted of.
Skeptical as usual, the vigilante set out to get some information on who was pulling the strings behind this ‘operation’. It was going to be difficult to pinpoint the blame on one person, considering a mass abduction this big definitely involved a group of people to be involved, but he needed a lead, at least. Yuri severely doubted this could have been done by any of the so-called ‘villains’ back on Terca Lumeris, given the technology gap and the fact that most of them had been thrown out of the picture permanently. In any case, he figured he’d start on the second floor, since that’s where he had been so kindly placed and ditched to survive on his own.
That was when he spotted a petite, blonde girl peeking out of her door, appearing rather anxious. She looked harmless enough, he figured, before deciding to approach her casually. Head tilted slightly to the side, he blinked curiously at her wings as they came into view, but ultimately decided that a charming smile would make a better first impression than an astonished gaping mouth. He assumed time for conversation would come eventually at any rate, since it didn’t look like they were going to be leaving here so soon.
“Hey, you okay there?”
“You look a little pale.”
Learning of this incurable disease they were apparently all infected with didn’t actually faze the young wolf. The chances of the entire thing being a gimmick was high in his eyes, and even if the disease was true, no where written in that lame manual did it say it was fatal — just that they were a ‘severe health risk’. He honestly didn’t feel any different than he had before, which led to him caring less about it than he should. He tended to prioritize present situations over whatever happened in the days to come, so why would he bother worrying over something like that?
--!
Oh! Who did this voice belong to? Blinking, she saw an unfamiliar stranger standing before her. She wasn't expecting someone to come by so soon. At least, she didn't have to do a lot of searching. That was a relief. Since she wasn't used to this hospital yet, it gave her some chills to even go wander around all by herself. Besides the fact that she was a rather careful and somewhat fragile person, Nill was worried that it would be similar to the one in her horrible past. There was no way she wanted to go back to that. It was a memory that should be forgotten.
Recomposing herself after a moment, the blondie answered his question by shaking her head slightly, then giving a small nod, and then looking at him with an unsure expression. A rather puzzling response to a simple question. But, to be frank, she wasn't exactly okay, but she was at the same time. She was right in the middle. Besides, she didn't know if she should be fine or not.
She then tilted her head slightly, her stare changing from uncertainty to curiosity. She didn't know who this person was, but she could tell that he was a patient, just like her. Nill has always been very observant of others, since that's what she did most of the time and it pretty much became a habit.
In any case, she decided to introduce herself first without speaking. The easiest way for her to communicate to others was probably writing -- especially if they aren't accustomed to voiceless people like her and he probably wasn't, she assumed -- and that's what she chose to do first. However, she didn't have any papers with her nor writing utensils at the moment (she doesn't really carry them in the first place, anyway; she usually 'talks' through her actions), so the only way was to do exactly what she did to tell Haine her name after he had saved her. Hesitating at first (because it's rather sudden when a random stranger takes your hand), she reached out for his hand with a nervous, awkward, and small smile and then, using her index finger, she gently wrote just one, simple word on his palm. 'Nill.' Her name.
confusing arrival.
Empty.
Everything felt so hollow and it was absolutely full of nothing. Just continuously falling deep into some vacant space. And it seemed to go on endlessly…
Nevertheless, something deep inside her urged her to wake up. Something stirred and it was telling her that it was a dream she was currently having. Perhaps it was that extreme odour that was not exactly unpleasant, but the pungent smell was stinging her nose and it wasn't what Nill expected at all, to say the least. She couldn't quite replace a word for it at the moment; however, it was rather familiar and this acrid scent reminded her something from the past. Something that she hoped to avoid.
Dull bright/green eyes snapped open only to look directly at the resplendent light coming from, of course, the florescent lights. Quickly, they blinked away for it was burning them, and instead, tried to adjust to the room, which was all completely…white. Blinding white. No wonder it was so intensely bright.
Where…am I…? This isn't the Church…
Nill sat up slowly to observe her surroundings better. Her eyes were becoming used to the brightness by now, and she noticed three other beds nearby, which clearly meant that she was sharing this room with strangers, and examining at how everything was neatly organized here, she realized that she was at some hospital. There was also oddly no one else present, except for her.
She suddenly wondered if her wings were okay. Nill, herself, was feeling alright with the exception that she was clueless to this situation, but she didn't feel hurt or anything. Well, her wings really held no purpose in her life as of yet — still, they were very important to her. As she carefully glanced over her shoulders to see if there was anything strange about her wings, she flexed them slightly over and over until she was satisfied with the fact that they were in a good shape.
Then, her eyes caught a glimpse of a red barcode on her pale skin. She wondered why she haven't seen it before. What was this doing here?
What has happened? She tried to think what could have occurred before she came here — she tried to make some sense out of this.
Then, it hit her. Just like that. Though her memories started to come vaguely at first.
A while ago, or at least that’s what it seemed like, she was being taken away by a couple of men in white. They just appeared at the church all of a sudden, and Nill was alone at that time, worried about Haine and everyone. They were trying to calm her down, she recalled, for she was struggling to get free, and they were telling her that she was apparently infected. But what she was infected by, they didn’t clearly say, she thought. She remembered that it was a very serious one though and thus, she had to be treated at once. She had to leave her only friends and home immediately.
But…
…Why?
Why was she infected? What was she infected by? She didn’t feel any different. Was she supposed to feel ill?
The air around her was slightly cold, which somewhat made her wanted to go cover herself with the blankets on the bed she found herself on. However, Nill decide to walk out of the room, trying to see if there was anyone — a doctor perhaps — who could help her or if she could get some answers somehow. To be honest, Nill hoped that someone would be able to understand her, since she was mute and sometimes, that led to trouble of communicating. There were some people, more or less, who didn’t get anything what she was trying to say. But still, it was worth a try.
Besides, if she was really infected by something, she wanted to get healed as fast as possible.

confusing arrival. (OPEN RP)
The noticeable grumble had the girl trying to cover up her laugh — which fortunately worked out well on both their favours. The young girl not wanting to seem rude, and Nill not wanting to be embarrassed.
Even if it shouldn’t be as funny as she possibly found it, Lily couldn’t help but smile a wide grin. Almost ear to ear.
“Here!” She turned just a bit towards the direction of the cafeteria, but she kept her hand extended for the older girl to take.
A friend was a friend. No matter what. Though she was a complete hypocrite with this. If a friend found themselves as a monster, Lily would do everything that’s anything to make them understand that they were not. And if they were uncomfortable or negative towards themselves, she knew how to make them smile just as bright as she could. And make sure that they were smiling again.
Yet as she did this, she would continue to see herself as a monster. The awful dog that tore friends and foes into bits — as Lily herself would wake up to nothing but red. Leaving her feared of only one thing out of the rest of the world —
Herself.
“Let’s go get something to eat~!”
Nill did not hesitate to accept Lily's helping hand. As a matter of fact, it was the opposite. Almost eagerly and immediately, her hand grasped onto Lily's in a timid manner. Her eyes shone brightfuly in thankfulness and overwhelming excitement.
She was really grateful of Lily being such a great friend to her. Lily was honestly such a lovely, nice, and gentle friend! She could tell that Lily considered others' feelings very much. She was one of those people who was selfless and confident -- someone Nill had to admire.
One day, she'll be sure to pay her (Lily) back for her genuine kindness! One day, Nill mentally made a note to herself.
As she followed Lily happily to the cafeteria (she was even skipping lightly in joy), Nill decided to keep up a conversation somehow. She wanted to know more about her new friend. That's how friendship develops even deeper, right?
So here she was, trying to think of a good topic to talk about, but failing miserably. That's when her eyes randomly darted over to a collar Lily was wearing around her neck. That had her very curious, since Haine also had something like that on his neck...
But Nill hesitated. She thought that it might be a sensitive subject and that it may offend her new friend. Quickly, she looked down, looking slightly embarrassed at even taking a glimpse of it by accident.
