Name's Lightwalker and I use she/her pronouns (I don't mind anything else tho, go wild)

I mostly do digital art/doodles as well as playing the piano and sometimes writing :)

Writeober. Day one: Blade

Silence. Everything was shrouded in silence, only disturbed by the ticking of the clock. Eleven fifty nine. Seconds seemed to tick slower than usual. Thunder struck just as the Big Ben striked twelve, sending chills down the spine's of many who watched. The weather was cold, rain pouring over their heads- yet no one had seemed to have brought an umbrella. They all stood stunned like statues, starring intensely at the clock.

Two silhouettes appeared against the clock that striked once. Bright blue eyes opened, starring blankly at eachother. Green attire contrasted against red painted cheeks, simple brow hair blowing in the storm's wind. The clock striked twice as the floor beneath their feet turned slowly with a creak. The crowd was met with a familiar view: Two wooden soldiers, each equiped with a wooden blade. The clock striked and stricked, each ring matching their steps towards each other. The clock stopped at it's twelfth ring as the puppets bowed, hands reaching for sharp blades. And so it begun. Blade clashed against blade violently as the crowd held their breath. They were all to familiar with their daily spar. Many believed they were controlled against their will, strings attached to their fragile limbs. Maybe it was so. Nobody knew for sure. Perhaps it was better to be oblivious to that fact. The spectacle always lasted 10 minutes on the dot. And tonight was no different. As their spar ended, they bowed again, eyes closing as the floor rotated, taking the soldiers back inside... Down in the crowd, a little girl gazed upwards absorbed in her thoughs. Was it all a dream? A spectacle arranged by the dolls? Perhaps so, perhaps not. She would never know or dare find out. But she would always come back to watch their blades dance
