Happy 256th Birthday Charles Fitzroy xx
fall desperately in love with someone 20 years your senior
die leaving all of your possessions to your secret lover and servants only for those wishes to be ignored by your overbearing older brother and stuck up mother with your father a sobbing mess in the middle of it
be so fond of your daughters you never want them to marry
Happy 239th Birthday to Prince Octavius!!
Princess Amelia (1807), by Peter Edward Stroehling, commissioned by George IV
God, if I am not dying of tuberculosis by the time I am thirty, I have absolutely no idea what I am doing with my life.

The carriage set off in the fresh morning light and arrived at Windsor by mid-day, coming to a sudden stop outside the castle gates and finally pulling up by the grand entrance the Princess hardly waited for the door to be opened and hoped down, determination written on her face. The colonel followed quickly behind the Princess only wishing she would follow proper protocol before being approached. ‘Ah Greville, you look well, pray do tell me-how is my father?’ Amelia hurried ignoring the glare the captain was receiving from her most ‘darling’ standing to her side.
The colonel had been awaiting her arrival for some time now, worrying about the effect this visit would have on the King. But Princess Amelia was never one to be discouraged, lest it come as an order from one of her parents - and even then she found ways around it.
He bowed; “Your Royal Highness, your rooms are prepared for your arrival. They are located in the same place as always. The King is..better this morning than he has been. Though I do not know if this promising condition will uphold.” He answered earnestly, completely ignoring the glare offered him by the other colonel - he merely gave him a nod of acknowledgment, before offering to show Amelia to her rooms, so that she could settle, and he could return to the King.
'Oh that IS good news!' Amelia smiled turning to the older man behind her who replied with what can only be described as the largest false smile since The Prince of Wales met his wife.
The three parted as they reached the large (and extremely cold) rooms that were ever so familiar to the Princess in the Lower Lodge. And without a moment to lose was tackling a quill and paper as she scribbled a note to her brother explaining the unhappy yet promising situation and so reasons for not attending dear little Charlotte's fete... oh the guilt indeed was felt-but for a good cause! ...she hoped..

For the mun - Who are your top five favorite roleplayers?
( OOC: You are asking me to be partial, to place some above others, when doing so isonly likely to cause offence? I feel faint at the very idea! I will give youthe names of the five accounts I most often roleplaywith, as though their characters were at dinner with mine:
@hm-george-iii has been gentlybut forcibly removed from the dinner table by particularly handsome, good-natured,and unmarried equerries and is currently distracting the other guests by screaming forhis lost peacocks from an antechamber while his wife tries to make stilted conversation. @princess-charlotte-of-wales,that curly-haired scamp, is refusing to eat her apple tart, hiding a puppyunder the table, and somehow – through sheer childish optimism – resisting slowlydying inside. @luckycaptainaubrey isa half-cut, well-seasoned raconteur on his second helping of apple tart and hisfourth glass of champagne and is somehow successfully concealing several loversunder the table (no doubt a trick he learned in the service). @pss-madeleine-of-prussia is too busy dispensing charity to Prussian orphans to attendthe dinner but nevertheless sends her best wishes and heartfelt regards. And @ask-maria-fitzherbert - a kind, exemplary woman who has the misfortune to love a fickle, self-absorbed prince - has eatenonly half her apple tart because she has a headache named Lady Jersey.
Mentions also go to @0-princess-amelia-0, although she isProbably Dying in Weymouth, and @devonshire-house-set,whose mun is still figuring things out.
And, having said that I must, most of all, acknowledge The Person (or persons?) responsible for sending mocking, bizarre, often raving, and highly indignant messages from Prince George’s estranged wife, PrincessCaroline. I don’t know who you are, or how many of you there are, but youactually terrify me, for I suspect you are legion. )
My dear Greville, it had been made clear to myself in these trying times that The Princess Amelia wishes to return home to Windsor to be with The King and aid him in his recovery if at all possible. In light of this I have been commanded to request a full report on His Majesty's health, if this is at all possible I am sure the Princess will be ever grateful. Humble Servant, Colonel Fitzroy -Kew Palace
Dear Fitzroy, I confess that the Princess shall find herself much disappointed had her hopes been high. The report I am to give consists of barely any signs of improvement in His Majesty, but they do not show the King to be any worse - His Majesty seems to be trapped in this state with no sign of slipping further into his illness, nor returning to health. His Majesty’s appetite has returned, and he now eats as he should, and addresses myself most kindly - yet he does not recognise some of his equerries and seems to not be able to recognise the Queen as of now, a factor which moved Her Majesty so that she began to look for distraction (presumably in the Princess of Wales’ fête.) The King gets very little sleep - 3 to 4 hours at most. He still continues in his rushed manner of speech, leaping from one topic to the next in a matter or seconds, and he never makes to much sense - however, at times he gives a sharp remark concerning the physicians about him. The Princess is most welcome to come, but I advise her not to expect too much good of His Majesty’s condition.
- Your obedient Servant, Col. R. F. Greville.
Upon receiving the note, Fitzroy skimmed it quickly, taking in the main factors mentioned before dragging himself upstairs to hand the note to the Princess, wondering the whole time why a Regency was not yet taken up.
Amelia took the letter from Windsor hesitantly and reluctantly, what if this was all one big mistake? Upon reading its contents the girl's heart sank a little, but not enough for mind to change intentions. 'Ready the carriage Charles.. We leave tonight'. The man bowed and left the dark dingy room, closing the door behind him. Oh...whatever will the Queen say...
'Maybe I should visit papa..' The Princess' voice rung softly through the small rooms of of Kew, uncertainty and worry at their best. Colonel Fitzroy sat opposite the princess (with neither of the Monarchs around, this is far how the princess preferred it) dropping his gaze to the floor and sighing at her words. 'Your Highness...already have you not attended your Niece's fete,' Amelia paced over to the large window of her room as her beloved Charles spoke, 'oh bother..' He was right, it was true she had not attended dear Lotte's fete, partly as she did not enjoy such large gathering, how they worried her but also due to her remaining chesty cough that now seemed ever present, the last thing the Princess wished was to cause any distress... 'and I highly doubt your Royal Parents would be less than pleased should you return to Windsor at this current time-' 'But papa is ill Charles!' Turning back to the colonel it was clear dear Emily was torn on the matter. Tho' she did not enjoy seeing her most caring and loving @hm-george-iii in such a position, the thought of being so far removed and helpless whilst he must visit hell and back.... After a short silence, Amelia seemed to have an idea- 'you must write to Greville! Yes! And ask how papa is this day! Then we can judge for certain what action we must take!' A small yet hesitant smile appeared at the idea of the King improving ever so slightly, the Colonel sighed quietly and 'rose from his seat offering a brief (and likely fake) smile back to the princess, bowing and taking his leave to begin such a letter.
Happy 267th Birthday to Col. Robert F. Greville!!
