Title: A Special Kind
Rating: General
Warnings: None
Summary: People watching can be such a treat.
People watching can be such a treat, our American tourist pondered while watching a beautiful young man. A banker or a spy on a stakeout, her rampant imagination suggested. Sitting up straight, a cup of tea in front of him, waiting for someone. A few moments later, three men made their way up to him and our American couldn't help herself sneaking a picture of the men's loving greeting. A family of a special kind, she contemplated affectionately. As the black-haired twins arranged themselves around the table, the fourth, older man turned, winking knowingly at our American, who blushed mortified.
Title: Fluency
Beta: None
Rating: G
Warning: None
Summary: The best language is touch.
The world is full of languages: known (several), familiar (more), unknown (most).
For the longest time, the Queenâs English was his best comfort. Â Not now, not anymore.
A hand on the nape of his neck: Calm.
A hand on the curve of his cheek: Welcome home, agent. (Smile.)
Hands clutching one of his own: I was so worried. (Tears, unnecessary but treasured, from this sweet one.)
He can navigate the world with ease and aplomb, but never before has he felt more fluent than returning to the home his family have created, where he doesnât have to speak at all.
Title: Christmas spirit
Rating: General
Warnings: None
Summary: Christmas is coming up
âOh, look Christmas cards from my family! Silly jumpers included!â
Laughing he showed the cards around. But he only got some weak smiles in return.
âAt least you have a family to celebrate withâ
âBut-âŚâ He realised too late what it meant for the others.
âDo you not want to spend Christmas with them?â
Family was always a difficult subject to bring up.
âI do want to spend the holidays with my family. And I will.â
The other three look puzzled. Even the cats are confused.
âBecause you three are my family!â
The relief was obvious. Everything was good now.
Title: Need You (by my side)
Beta: N/A
Rating: T or M?
Warnings: Implied MCD, Implied Suicide, ANGST
Summary: Here I stand, with my everlasting love.
--
"We were supposed to be a family," he says. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
He sits alone, lets the rain wash away his world.
In one hand, a column, guarding numbers and empty secrets. In the other, a pen, spinning slowly between his fingers. One click, and he could end this all.
He clutches the column close. He left this for someone, once. And now they've left it for him.
"We were supposed to be a family," he says, but no one answers.
He picks up the pen.
(Once, he had a family, and they loved him. He loves them still.)
Prompt: âDid you have to be so cliche?â
Word Count: 250 max
Challenge: This is a quote challenge! That means the quote can be added to but not changed or abbreviated.

Title: Debriefing
Author: @endofmeandeverything
Rating: G
Warning: None
Summary: Nothing 009 does is normal.
Q is distinctly unimpressed.
The focus of his discontent is a rose resting at the edge of his workbench. Â Thereâs nothing wrong with it, really: itâs a perfect specimen. Â Partially open, perfectly crimson.
Considering that itâs 009 who placed is there, itâs also also completely unexpected.
After a moment of thought, Q asks: âDid you have to be so cliche?â
Alex tilts his head as if heâs seriously considering the question. Â âIt was Dannyâs idea,â he confesses. Â He doesnât look at all ashamed that he canât figure out how to apologize without help. Â (If thereâs a sure thing about Alex, itâs that he knows his limits).
But Q is still cross. âThen give Danny flowers.â
âJames did say it was foolish.â Â Alex delivers this as he does everything else: a fact.
âNext time, listen to James. Â Heâs had to apologize to me so often that he could write a dissertation on how itâs done.â
As usual, 009 accepts his criticism with aplomb. Â âHow should I apologize?â
Q takes up the rose anyway, touches the silken petals with two fingertips. It isnât the flower that mollifies him, but Alexâs earnest desire to make him happy. Â âPromise me not to get shot again. Â Honestly, wrangling double-oh-seven is quite enough. Â Youâre normally more sensible.â
âThe mission required action.â
Q smiles. Â âI know.â Â He touches the bloom to his mouth. Â âYou were perfect.â
Title: Anger
Author: @themuller13
Rating: General
Warnings: None
Summary: Eventually, Danny breaks.
âDanny. Really? Did you have to be so cliche?â
Q walked into the living room with an ashtray, pointing it accusingly at Danny. Bond felt the rising tension in the room even before Danny sat up on the sofa.
âCliche?â
Danny only just hid the anger in his voice. Putting his book down, Bond registered the bewildered look on Alex's face.
âSmoking after sex? How cliche ââ
Q stopped midsentence as Danny jumped up, shoulders hunched, hands turned to fists.
âCliche? You know whatâs cliche? You lot!â
Danny waved a hand at three of them.
âYou bastards think you can keep your own little live-in rent boy. Convenient, isnât it? Whenever you have some spare time from saving the world, you come home, have a cuddle and a shag. Little doe-eyed Danny will be oh-so-happy to pleasure you and be your house-keeper while youâre out and about.â
His body was trembling, the words almost shouted. Spit out in a powerless rage. Bond shot a warning glance at Q, who was too gobsmacked to react. Alex was shaking; confusion written all over his face. One last glare at the three dumbstruck men in the room, then Danny turned with tears in his eyes, and stomped off, slamming the door behind him.
Silence.
Bond took a deep breath, having expected this. He had been surprised at Danny's patience with them. With a reassuring nod at Alex and Q, Bond rose and followed Danny out of their flat. Time to set things right.
Title: Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue
Author: @iamanonniemouse
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Summary: Danny loves holidays, and he loves his guys, too!
As Danny scatters the last handful of rose petals, he realizes he may have gone slightly overboard.
He looks at the red candles, the red cups and plates, the heart-shaped napkins.
Goddammit, Danny, he thinks. Did you have to be so clichĂŠ?
He's about to put it all away and settle for chocolate and roses when he hears voices outside and a key in the lock.
It appears he's going to have to settle for embarrassment instead.
The front door swings open, and Q and James stumble inside.
Q's eyebrows raise as he takes in the apartment. "Who died?"
"If it's one of your cats, I'm leaving now," James says.
Danny flushes. "Nobody died."
"Then what the bloody hell is going on?" James asks.
"Ah," Q says. "Sorry, Danny."
James crosses the room and picks up a napkin. "It's Valentine's Day, isn't it?"
Danny can't help but smile. "You forgot?"
"I'm too busy saving the world to remember stupid things like holidays," James says.
Q snorts. "Saving the world seems a bit much."
"Oh, shut up, Q."
The front door swings open again and Alex quietly slips inside, removing his coat. He hesitates, and Danny watches his eyes flick around the room. He finishes hanging up his coat then walks straight to Danny's side, wrapping an arm around his waist and kissing him.
"I love you," he murmurs. "Happy Valentine's Day."
Danny beams.
"See?" Q says. "Alex isn't too busy saving the world to remember holidays."
"Oh, shut up, Q."
Title: Â Anniversary
author: @blood-suits-and-tears
Rating: Gen
Warnings: Â None
Summary: Â Alex makes Danny mad
The front door slammed open.
âGod Alex, did you have to be so clichĂŠ? Stuck up twat!â Danny stamped past the lounge door and up the stairs.
âYou go after Danny.â Â James said to Q. He found Alex standing by the front door, a forlorn look of confusion on his face.
âWhat happened, Pickle?â
Jamesâs silly term of affection usually made Alex smile but instead he turned to him, burying himself in his arms.
âI did it again. Â I upset him.â
James held onto him tightly and kissed the side of his face. Â Alex was a sweet young man but James knew that he sometimes struggled to relate to other people, even his three lovers.
âWhat happened?â Â
âWe went to the bridge where we met.  He wanted me to kiss him and I couldnât⌠I donât like it in public⌠He said I should run back home to my mum if I was going to be so shut off.  I donât mean to be James.â
James leaned forward and kissed Alex softly.
âI know, baby. Â But you have to remember, the anniversary of the day he was told that youâd died is coming up. Â He always finds it hard and Iâm so sorry... Q and I should have picked up on that.â
âI didnât think⌠Youâre so clever.â
âNo,â James laughed, âQâs the clever one. Â Iâm the one with the big dick, remember?â Â That got a little chuckle out of Alex. âCome on. Â Letâs try to cheer Danny up together.â
Title: Pride
Author: @iambid
Rating: General
Warnings: None
Summary: Danny got a tattoo
"Danny? Is that you?"
"Hello! Yes we're back"
James turned around to greet Danny and Alex who just entered the kitchen.
"How did it go? You have to remember to take good care of it and keep it clean and-..."
"James, it's just a tattoo, I'll be fine"
He pecked James' lips to take his mind off.
"Hey, let's see!" Q comes in and puts the kettle on and gets mugs out for everyone.
Danny puts his exposed foot on one of the chairs so they all can see.
"Did you have to be so clichĂŠ?"
"No, Q, let me explain. It's not just a rainbow... There's a nice cloud with the sun and then the rain cloud with lighting on the other side of the rainbow. And of course I'm proud as well. But the rainbow can't exist with only one of the clouds. So it's bad times and good times"
Danny squeezes Alex' hand for emphasis. And then they're all just quiet for a moment, as they all can relate to what Danny said.
"That's nice" James manages to get out, almost a bit choked up, he pulls Danny close and places a kiss on his temple.
"No one I'd rather share good and also bad times with. I love you three" Danny pulls everyone close and tears up a little.

Title: Soul Mates?
Author: @themuller13
Rating: general
Warnings: none
Summary: Q is puzzled.
âSoul mates? Q! What did you tell him?â
âHonestly, Danny, what would you expect me to say? Of all people, for Alex to even think about this utterly ridiculous senti- What?â
âI know he doesnât believe in soul mates! But what did you say? Why were you even ââ
âDanny! Calm down! We were just decoding a programme. Nothing special, just a simple lie-detector progra- Danny! What is wrong with you?â
âWhat did Alex say?â
âNothing much. In fact, he was really quiet once weâd finished with it. Out of the blue he asked me about soul mates. Whether I believed in â Danny! Why are you crying? Please, youâre freaking me out here. What is wrong with you?â
âAnd you just told him â wait! You said: What are the odds this person would be in the same country? Or the same city? That their paths would even cross? It would mean almost everyone in the world is with the wrong person. If itâs a way of saying, âweâre good togetherâ why not just say â âweâre good togetherâ? Right? Stop gaping, Q!â
âHow? Thatâs exactly, what â but I wouldâve thought ââ
âYes, Q! Of course. I do believe in soul mates! What were the odds of me finding Alex after MI5 had taken him? The odds, for the four of us finding each other? Being perfect for each other?! Fuck.â
âI donât understand, Danny.â
âHe was asking you, whether you, whether we, really do love him.â
Title: Only Chopping Vegetables
Author: @endofmeandeverything
Rating: General
Warning: None
Summary: Living with spies means living with lovers who always imagine the worst-case scenario.
âItâs hardly that important. Â Honestly, you always worry so much. Â No, donât send James! Â No, not Alex either! Â You very well know you canât just come off work! Â I promise, itâs only a cut and Iâm nearly to hospital anyway.â
âYouâll have to forgive my penchant for overreaction. Â Itâs just that every time James says âItâs not that badâ he means that heâs half severed a limb or taken a bullet somewhere normal human beings considered vital.â
âDonât get sour like that, Iâm not angry with you. Â Just a moment, hereâs my stopââ
âDanny?â
âHere.  Anyhow, Iâm not saying youâre being silly, I know your jobs areâŚstrenuous.  But honestly, itâs only a cutââ
âYou texted âon way to hospitalâ when I asked how you were. Â I do think it warranted at least a telephone call.â
âIâm sorry, really I am. I ought to have thoughtâŚ.  I promise, Iâm fine.  I didnât mean to worry you.  Itâs probably only a few stitches.â
âWeâll see about that when I get home.â
âQ.â
âItâs my place to worry.â
âNot over me. Â Never over me.â
âDonât be ridiculous. Â Have you got there yet? Â Tell the doctor that if he hurts you, there are highly placed government officials willing to take drastic measures.â
âIâm not telling him that.â
âOnly a joke.â
âIt wasnât!â
âDonât be smug, Daniel, I can hear you smiling.â
âI love you, too.â
âDo shut up.â

âStuck in Alaska⌠heâŚ. the phone signal broke up.  James said he wonât be home for my birthday.â
âQ ⌠oh hey, donât please.  Itâs OK.  Come here, itâs OK.  You did all you could.  Alex told me you were trying to get him home from the field but it isnât the first time is it?  These things happen.  Itâs OK.â
âI know but⌠itâs just so damn hard sometimes.  Loving him and not getting to have him here for the special things.â
âYou still have me and Alex.â
âI know and I appreciate it, I really do but⌠where is Alex anyway?â
âGetting a Chinese. Â Heâs getting you that stringy stuff you like.
âItâs called Crispy Beef Dan.â
âYuck. Â Gross.â
âYou look cute when you wrinkle your nose like that.â
âBleargh.â
âHehe.  I love you baby I just wish⌠is that the door?â
âHullo? Â Hello chaps, look who I found lurking outside.â
âJAMES! Â You absolute prick! You said you were stuck in Alaska!â
âOof!  Thanks for the warm welcome darling⌠probably could have done with the tackle-hug after Iâd taken my coat off.â
âWhat⌠how are you here?â
âI tried to tell you on the phone.  I wouldnât be able to fly via Homer â I was too late to catch that flightâŚâ
âI thought you said you wouldnât be able to fly homeâŚâ
âWell Iâm here now and I fully intend to make it up to you⌠all weekendâŚâ
âI canât wait.â

âThatâs not what I meant⌠30 minutes in total, 13 minutes in the ovenâ
âB-but QâŚâ
âShh⌠Itâs okay Alex, donât worry. We can just pop to the shop and buy some. And Q can clean up in that timeâ
âIâm sorryâ
âWe just wanted to do something nice for Danny, heâs doing so well at uni and deserves a break and a treat after a long day of examsâ
âI know. Letâs go to the fancy bakery around the corner, Danny always presses his nose to the window when we walk past it to look at all the sweet treatsâ
âYou two better hurry then, heâll be home soonâ
âOh, I hear the doorâŚâ
âAnyone hom-⌠hey kitties, of course I got you two a treat as well. Whatâs going on? Whatâs that smell?â
âNothing to worry about Danny. Congrats on finishing your exams though!â
âThank you, it went quite well I thinkâ
âOf course it did, youâre brilliant!â
âYou are, Q is rightâ
âYou all have to stop with the flattery now, please, Iâm blushing alreadyâ
âWhich we all donât mind because youâre cute and you deserve itâ
âThen letâs celebrate, I brought cake and dinner is ordered and on its wayâ
âWait, what?â
âThat was our jobâ
âYou three are always so busy, so I thought Iâd just organise something quickly. No worries, reallyâ
âBut we wanted to treat youâ
âWell, thereâs still time after dinnerâŚâ

âDanny, you donât have to tell me, itâs okay.â
