Selected pictures to illustrate this morningās walk. I started when it was still darkish (1) and walked along the park fence up toward the dog park to look past the big oak and across the park toward sunrise(2). I had planned to walk home from there but as you see in the 3rd picture the clouds started to light up. How could I go?
I gave in to the beauty and walked downhill through the snow (carefully) toward the stream and saw softer colors in the sky to the north (4). I admired the rough bark of the big black locust tree (5) and the looked toward the little stone bridge as the new dayās light lit up the stream (6). From the green bridge I looked across the north lawn of the park toward the north entrance to the woods (7) and reluctantly started back, passing the same big oak from below, now lit by brilliant first light and with the gibbous moon shining over it (8), and from there walked under the oldest Norway spruce in the park, seeing the gold morning light shining through the sakura cherry trees that will be full of bloom in a few months (9). And then finally I was back at the fence (10) and from there back on the road where walking was much easier.
I have many more pictures and Iām not sure I chose the best ones. I kept meaning to go home but everywhere I turned beauty was beckoning and as Iām sure you know by now I canāt resist its charms!
