I've said this before and I'll say it again: it's more important to know and understand fully why something is harmful than it is to drop everything deemed problematic. It's performative and does nothing. People wonder why nobody has critical thinking skills and this is part of it because no one knows how to simousltansly critique and consume media. You need to use discernment.
This is ultimately why propaganda is going to work on you. Because you never learned how to think for yourself and the actual ideology behind things. You simply rely on group think and the bare minimum explanations to tell you what's good and bad.
"i'm not allowed to enjoy problematic media" leads to "well i don't WANT to stop enjoying this piece of media, therefore i must vehemently ignore/defend all of its flaws"
a more helpful framework is to ask yourself questions like "is this, even with my knowledge of its flaws, negatively influencing my ideals?" and "is this normalizing/desensitizing me to real life issues?" and "is my enjoyment of this monetarily supporting creators with harmful beliefs?" and "am i promoting this to other people who may not have the media literacy to see its flaws?"
sometimes you SHOULD stop consuming certain media, but you need to understand WHY, not just follow public opinion
May 19th is Agender Pride Day! I made a little comic to explain what being Agender means to me with some help from a little figment.
Check out the Queer Cartoonists Database to discover more Agender and Nonbinary artists!
this is literally insane asklasfkdf like HOW
Everyone who thinks this is fake has never interacted with a 15 year old on twitter.
Genuinely though (speaking as someone who grew up in online fandom spaces and is now an adult who is still in online spaces), regardless of this being real or not and regardless of whether or not this person consumed content that made [Clown Emoji Kid] feel uncomfy, if you are a minor in a fandom space and you see someone consuming content that makes you feel unsafe, this is the exact wrong way to tackle it.
If you are underage and see someone consume, create, or spread idk NSFW content w kids in it or abusive relationships or idk anything that makes you uncomfortable--do not interact with that person. Do not DM them, do not make a callout post for them, do not collect $200, do not pass start. For your own fuckin safety
Because best-case scenario, it ends up like this--a mutual blocking, and that's that. Worst case scenario, this person's genuinely a p3do, they start interacting with you, and it spirals into justification and grooming.
If someone's content truly upsets you, tell an adult you trust, block, and report. Please, I am genuinely begging minors--do NOT interact with people who make you feel unsafe. You can set your own boundaries and enforce them with minimal interaction. Keep yourself safe for your own mental health.
Prediction for other Americans: In a year or two when COVID-19 is winding down either just due to burnout or a vaccine there will emerge a narrative that it was tragic, and sad, but unavoidable, and people did what they could in the face of overwhelming odds.
This will be false.
The US has been far, far too slow in responding. Contrast our response with South Korea's, with their aggressive testing, containment, and mitigation. Notice how slow we have been in implementing measures that can slow the virus's spread. Notice how lack of insurance, paid time off, and a robust safety net will speed the virus's spread. Notice the lack of testing, and the spread of misinformation. This was, perhaps, not something that can be prevented, but it is absolutely something that can be mitigated, and our leaders and our country failed and continue to fail to take actions that can mitigate it.
your anons are so aggro lately. it must be mating season
okay so you arent wrong but this is literally the worst way you couldve put it

i said it once and i'll say it again: no more unnecessary plot lines unless they're relevant to the sex scenes.
Me writing porn: FUCK I can't believe I need to talk about the sewers of Paris for this blow job to proceed
“towarzysz” to tak homoerotyczne słowo. towarzysz w czym, hm? w czym ci towarzyszy? w gejowskim seksie?
ok but im actually angry that??? this is happening???? montero is NUMBER ONE p much everywhere but it’s getting. fucking taken down. this isn’t fair i swear to god
He didn’t just make this up out of no where; he’s responding to fans tweeting him saying they cannot access it.
I’m not saying to panic, but to imply he’s lying for streams is uncalled for. This so far seems to be a region based occurrence, and I think it’s fair to assume/prep for something happening in the U.S (though things get blocked outside the U.S all the time); it seems like Nas wasn’t involved in any discussions around it getting removed, so he’s just playing it safe lmao If you are outside the U.S, I would try screen recording the song if you like bopping to it✨
best part
It’s true; my family has an Apple Music subscription, and I just tried to listen to it. This is what I got–
Corporations will always prioritize their homophobic, racist consumer bases. There are so many songs that have much worse content, yet I can listen to them without issue. If it’s about the sexual content, why can I still listen to Dead Girl Walking, a song centered entirely around high schoolers having sex? If it’s about the swearing, why can I still listen to all those other songs tagged as explicit? This is purely because Lil Nas X is a black, gay man who made some conservatives complain.
lol so true busty....i mean breastie...i mean. fuck
