Iâve heard tell, man-made structures, becoming possessed, by a human soul, so that the spirit becomes merged with wood and brick, creating, a rare form of monster, known as, Domus Mactibilis.

Dagnyâs Basic Guide to Meditation
Iâve had a number of people ask me about how to reach out to the gods using meditation, as Iâm a quite vocal when it comes to the benefits of the practice. Unfortunately, I havenât done a great job of explaining just how to use meditation to reach out to the gods, so Iâm taking this opportunity to fix that.
As with everything I write, adjust to the settings that work best for you. If a visualisation that Iâve described doesnât feel right, test a few others until you find one that you like.
Lastly, I encourage you to let go of the control that you must hear what they have to say. If youâre able to leave that behind and trust in them, youâll have much more powerful results than if you try to control every detail of the meditation.
Environment. As you might expect, meditation is a pretty quiet activity, and is best done in an environment that you can tune out easily. For myself, I prefer to meditate late at night or in the morning when no one else in the rooms beside me are that active. But if youâre okay with some background noise, then meditate in any place that makes you feel safe and that no one will bother you for a little bit.
If you need to, put a sign on your door asking for some alone time.
Turn your phone on silent (not vibrate), and turn off any notifications that might buzz on your computer, alarms, etc.
Get into a comfortable position. Youâll be sat (or stood or lying down) like this for a while, so make sure that youâre not putting any unnecessary tension on your knees, back, or neck.
Personally, I like to sit cross-legged on a couch, but to each their own.
I advise doing little âbody-thingsâ before getting started, such as scratching, knuckle-popping, etc.
Focus on your breath. Naturally, our thoughts will be buzzing â and thatâs fine! But for a while, youâll want to just bring your attention to your breath. I suggest breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth (but again, YMMV). You want to do this until youâre very aware of how each breath is unique from the one that comes before and after it.
If it helps you concentrate, you can use some counting: breathe in for one, out for two, and keep going until you get to ten. Then start over. If you lose concentration, just start over, no sweat. The point is to calm the mind down a bit.
If you get distracted by other thoughts, just remind yourself to gently bring your attention back to your breath. Think of a feather touching a glassâthatâs how gentle the shift in your consciousness can be!
Take your time with this. Thereâs no rush!
If this is as far as you can go for your first few tries, thatâs fine. Itâs hard to slow down our brain.
Imagine yourself in a setting. Iâll give you a few examples below, but the point is to put yourself in a setting that you and your deity can both hang out in comfortably. So if youâre working with a sea god, choosing a desert maybe isnât the best option. It can be based on nature (a forest, a stream, a mountaintop), or something youâre more familiar with in an urban setting (the top of a building, a road you travel often, even just your room).
Nature-based examples:
A forest, either covered in trees or sparsely filled. This is great for âexplorationâ discussions.
A desert mountain, with Joshua trees or other cacti. This is a good location for keeping yourself on task, as there will hopefully be less in the landscape to distract you.
A dark cave. This is particularly useful for shadow work.
Civilisation-based examples:
A front porch while it rains around you. I like to imagine myself on a porch swing in particular. Great for contemplative discussions.
An empty building. Especially if itâs run-down, this can be good for âdestructionâ visualisations.
A coffee shop. Many of us are familiar with this already, and it can make our conversations seem less serious if we need the light-hearted balance.
Invite your deity. This can be done in formal words (âMy Lady Vanadis, I ask you to join me in this meditationâ), or with an opening of your energy. If you have difficulty with unintentionally inviting someone other than your intended deity or spirit, I suggest starting with the formal words.
Once youâre invited them, wait for them to arrive. Have patience if they donât show up immediately. Thereâs no rush.
Let them guide you. Once your deity arrives, you may find that they want to go on a walk, or take a dive off the docks, or give you a tour through the palace. Let them take you where they want you to go. That way youâre meeting in a place youâve both contributed to.
Have conversations. You may want to talk about a specific event, some divination, or just their nature with your deity. Wherever you go with them, feel free to talk, to ask. Theyâll answer you if itâs the right time⌠and theyâll usually tell you if they arenât going to answer you (depending on the deity, of course; some of them can be frustratingly cryptic).
This is the place where the real work ends up happening. When Iâm doing shadow work, for example, I oftentimes end up in a dark cave. While Iâm there, I might hear voices saying things Iâm afraid of hearing in the waking world, or being reminded of things Iâm not proud of. This is all a part of the work to make me more aware of all aspects of my personality, including the more negative ones.
My biggest piece of advice for these meditations is to talk to your deities, but more importantly, listen to them. We have much more to gain by shutting up than by filling the silence.
Bid goodbye. When youâre ready to goâor the deity has made it clear that your time is upâyou can say goodbye to them. I would also be sure to thank them for their time. It only ever pays to be polite. Think back through the conversation or experience youâve just had. Youâll be more likely to remember it that way.
Focus on your breathing. Bringing your attention back to your body, think about the feeling of air moving through your lungs again. Youâll slowly become more aware of the sounds around you. When youâre ready, open your eyes.
Record your experience. This isnât necessary, but Iâm a big believer in recording our interactions with the gods. This can be in a journal, a blog, or a picture. Just make sure that youâve found a way to capture what happened, what you discussed, and what you thought/felt about it.
For a while, this should be good enough to build a relationship with the god(s)/ess(es) or spirit(s). Once youâre more comfortable with this, youâll naturally find yourself floating in and out of that headspace, or feeling more comfortable with inviting more than one deity at a time.
I hope this is helpful!
- Dagny

Once youâve looked over all those cool links, I have some general advice for you on how you can have some sort of support system going for you:
Reasons to move out of home
You may decide to leave home for many different reasons, including:
wishing to live independently
location difficulties â for example, the need to move closer to university
conflict with your parents
being asked to leave by your parents.
Issues to consider when moving out of home
Itâs common to be a little unsure when you make a decision like leaving home. You may choose to move, but find that you face problems you didnât anticipate, such as:
Unreadiness â you may find you are not quite ready to handle all the responsibilities.
Money worries â bills including rent, utilities like gas and electricity and the cost of groceries may catch you by surprise, especially if you are used to your parents providing for everything. Debt may become an issue.
Flatmate problems â issues such as paying bills on time, sharing housework equally, friends who never pay board, but stay anyway, and lifestyle incompatibilities (such as a non-drug-user flatting with a drug user) may result in hostilities and arguments.
Your parents may be worried
Think about how your parents may be feeling and talk with them if they are worried about you. Most parents want their children to be happy and independent, but they might be concerned about a lot of different things. For example:
They may worry that you are not ready.
They may be sad because they will miss you.
They may think you shouldnât leave home until you are married or have bought a house.
They may be concerned about the people you have chosen to live with.
Reassure your parents that you will keep in touch and visit regularly. Try to leave on a positive note. Hopefully, they are happy about your plans and support your decision.
Tips for a successful move
Tips include:
Donât make a rash decision â consider the situation carefully. Are you ready to live independently? Do you make enough money to support yourself? Are you moving out for the right reasons?
Draw up a realistic budget â donât forget to include âhiddenâ expenses such as the propertyâs security deposit or bond (usually four weeksâ rent), connection fees for utilities, and home and contents insurance.
Communicate â avoid misunderstandings, hostilities and arguments by talking openly and respectfully about your concerns with flatmates and parents. Make sure youâre open to their point of view too â getting along is a two-way street.
Keep in touch â talk to your parents about regular home visits: for example, having Sunday night dinner together every week.
Work out acceptable behaviour â if your parents donât like your flatmate(s), find out why. It is usually the behaviour rather than the person that causes offence (for example, swearing or smoking). Out of respect for your parents, ask your flatmate(s) to be on their best behaviour when your parents visit and do the same for them.
Ask for help â if things are becoming difficult, donât be too proud to ask your parents for help. They have a lot of life experience.
If your family home does not provide support
Not everyone who leaves home can return home or ask their parents for help in times of trouble. If you have been thrown out of home or left home to escape abuse or conflict, you may be too young or unprepared to cope.
If you are a fostered child, you will have to leave the state-care system when you turn 18, but you may not be ready to make the sudden transition to independence.
If you need support, help is available from a range of community and government organisations. Assistance includes emergency accommodation and food vouchers. If you canât call your parents or foster parents, call one of the associations below for information, advice and assistance.

100 ways to incorporate magick in your daily life.Â
I understand that these are not exactly all witchy but this is about intergreting your everyday life in your practice and appreciating as well as finding magick in the most mundane and simple things that we often miss out on. âĄ
1. When you wake up, before grabbing your phone or getting out of bed, take a few seconds to breathe, and stretch all your limbs.
2. Say ââthank youââ to your god/goddess/deity, or simply to acknowledge how lucky you are to live another day.

4. If itâs raining outside or snowing, take a minute to admire the beauty of it.Â
5. Pick wildflowers (please donât pick any endangered flowers or toxic ones, do your research).

A New Deity!
So, its been a hot second since ive been on this tumblr account hasnt it, i hope everyones doing good! Iâm here to update about my deity situation and also becasue I would really love some friends who also work with this new deity of mine (if you wanna be friends follow my insta its 0cculting_ because my messages on here donât work).Â
Heâs definitely been around for a while, and I think the reason I didnât know was simply because he wanted to observe me to see what either I was like or how me and Loki were but this week heâs been giving so many signs itâs been actually crazy. Firstly, I started to notice seeing more crows than usual and the fact my college class talked about dragons A LOT which has never happened before. Then I started to have dreams, which he showed up in some of them, the deity is Lucifer.
The first dream is kind of blurry, all I remember is being in this dark flooded tunnels like house and then the second dream I was talking to him in my room but it was like i was sleep talking but I donât think I was and I never remembered what we talked about, and then after that I tried reaching out to him to see if it really was him because it could have just been normal dreams but during a tarot reading I had with him he said, âI hate how your worst trauma stops you from exploring ....â (I dont really wanna talk about my trauma so the ... was the thing relating to my trauma) and then that night or last night rather I dreamed I got over my trauma or I was learning to, and then after that the dream changed to me being in my schools gym and everyone who hurt me in high school was there and they were bullying me again, but it kinda got all blurry but I think Lucifer was there and scared them because then they started to rapidly apologise to me and I think Lucifer was trying to tell me to not just forget about what they did to me and to do something about it but also that he wants to help me with my trauma and I think itâs working.
I just love how hes so â!! imma help you with your trauma because i HATE what its doing to youâ and Loki likes him too, he got a little jealous earlier though so I lit a candle for him because I dont want him to feel like that ever, the only reason Im talking to Lucifer a lot right now is because I wanted answers yk, why hes suddenly shown up, how Loki has never mentioned him to me because I know he would have.Â
imma go sleep now because i feel like a zombie honestly, hopefully Iâll be seeing Lucifer again in my dreams.Â
Iâm so happy youâre back!
So Heyy, I wanted to ask any messages my spirit guides have for me please?
A

I got the fool card so their message is go on an adventure, be spontaneous or begin something new.
hi everyone itâs been a while ! iâm doing free tarot readings again if anyone wants one !
Do you have any experience with spirits? If you do i'd like advice on how to safely communicate with them
Hey there! So, for spirit communication, there are several ways and Iâll only briefly touch on a couple of the prominent onesThere are the clairs: clairvoyance (seeing), clairtangence/psychometry (touching), clairaudience (hearing), Clairgustance (tasting), clairsentience (feeling), Clairscent/clairodoance (smelling) and clairempathy etc etc to communicate with spirits. While some people have a natural affinity for one to several, they can all be strengthened by anyone with practice.
I happened to have owned an antique store and my clairtangence is pretty developed. Iâll get flashes of Information, emotions, etc. when using and developing the Clairâs, go with your instincts and donât discount anything. If you walk into a room and keep getting a flash of the number 32, make a note and move on. But a simple way to communicate aside from the Clairâs are your usual divination methods:
Spirit boards or ouijaPendulums with a board (yes, no, maybe, or even using a pendulum over a spirit board)And my favorite, cartomancy and tarot cards.
So many people have spirit communication spreads, and thatâs great, but an even simpler way and more beginner friendly way is asking yes/no questions and using cartomancy.
Playing Card Deck (take out the jokers)â ď¸ spades- yesâŚď¸diamonds- noâŁď¸clubs- maybe/reframe the questionâĽď¸hearts- I donât know
Tarot Cardsâď¸swords- yesâď¸ pentacles- nođ wands- maybe/reframe the questionđˇcups- I donât knowMajor arcana: interpret as you see fit. Archetypes, people, major life events etc
Now, my method I use:đŻGrab a candle (I use the glass âprayerâ candles because theyâre cheap, come in every color, and the glass keeps them easy to move and most importantly, are protected from blowing out from a gust)đŻTrace or draw a septagram (seven pointed star, known for helping control spirits/keep things from getting out of hand, also good for limiting the interaction/influence to just that area)on the space youâll be working/putting your toolsđŻTake a breath, center and ground yourself, and if you feel the need to shield, only shield yourself. If you cast a circle of salt, or ward your area, youâre blocking out the spirits and youâll just be sitting in the dark alone.đŻLight the candle and either vocally or internally invite a specific spirit like ancestral spirits (birth, local or spiritual ancestors) or just reach out and see whoâs there*. đŻFor cartomancy ask a question, draw a card, and keep going. You get a surprisingly clear picture and instincts may kick in and in your minds eye, you may even get glimpses of events, appearances etc.đŻUse whatever method until either the spirit leaves or youâre done with the interaction. Then blow out the candle.**đŻRe-shield yourself, your home and put up whatever protections you had previously. You can cleanse the space, and cleanse your tool as well (sprinkling a little salt is perfect and simple)
Boom, youâre a spirit worker.
Couple notes: Itâs your space, you set the rules and the barriers.*you can specify and make requirements and I highly suggest this especially if youâre starting out or if youâre just reaching into the void. Examples: âOnly spirits who cannot/will not harm me are welcome. Only human spirits may come into this space. No lies or tricksters can be spoken in this time.â (but itâs only fair if you do the same)**You do not have to say thank you. This is especially important if you end up contacting certain beings who may take it as an admissions that a favor was done and you now are indebted. Some handy alternatives are beginning the session/seance with âwelcomeâ and ending with âfarewell/goodbyeâ other options for verbally ending the session while being polite are âI have heard your truth/storyâ but if itâs a family member, or ancestral spirit, I have no problem saying thank you.
If you are seeking specific information or Information about your future, youâre better off interacting with an ancestral spirit or family member who you have a connection to (Julia Child wonât have any idea if youâre getting into Dartmouth). You can also VERY CAREFULLY AND WITH A CLEAR INTENTION AND SPECIFICITY make a bargain for specific knowledge. The way this is done is by stating what you will give/donate BEFORE.âI will give you the first serving of tonightâs meal. In exchange for caring for your spirit, share any important information you have about _____________â then, make a plate of a small portion of each item and set it outside.âI will light a candle in the church for you. In return, I would like your blessing on this land.â Then go fucking light a candle in the church for them.
What if nothing happens?Make your space as welcoming as possible. Light incense, spray Agua Florida, burn some marigolds and mugwort etc.
What if everything happens? If things get hectic, donât freak out and donât just leave the space. Say goodbye, you are no longer welcome in my home, and blow out the candle. Cleanse, take a shower, turn on the lights and CLEANSE YOUR TOOLS. The tool is a conduit, and leaving it open is how stupid stuff happens.
Anyway, hope this helps! Happy hauntings.
đŚCheers, Barberwitch
Interviewing a Spirit
Whenever weâre encountering a new spirit weâre thinking of working with, asking the right questions is important. Hereâs a list of potential questions to ask that can be useful in figuring out their vibe and if they have a place in your practice.
What is your name/what can I call you?
Is there a name in my language for the type of being you are?
What do/would you want from me?
How do you sustain yourself? (aka, what do you âeat?â)Â
What are you looking to gain/do/achieve? Short or long term.
What do you think of humans?
Do you agree to respect any boundaries I set?
Would you like or require offerings from me?
If so, what kinds of offerings do you like to receive?
What are your favorite colors/smells/foods/sounds/etc.?
Do you plan on staying around a long time or would any arrangement be temporary?
Do you have any other loyalties? With whom? (Itâs not always bad if they do, but itâs important to know.)Â
Is there anything you dislike or are afraid of?
What signs might you show me to let me know youâre there?
Do you have/want an anchor? What kind?
Do you have any particular talents?Â
Is there anything you struggle to do?
How to: Do Automatic Writing
Youâll Need:
A pen
Paper
(Optionally) A candle
(Optionally) salt An Explanation:Automatic Writing is when you let an spirit/entity take a hold of your hand and move it to write, scribble, draw and communicate. Itâs a (usually) safe way to communicate with spirits, as long as you stay calm and donât let fear take over. A Fair Warning:Â
Fear is food for spirits. Feed them, and theyâll get stronger. Stay serene. Automatic writing takes practice and might not work on the first try. How to:
If you want to be very safe, surround yourself with a circle of salt.
A lot of people prefer to do automatic writing in the nude, however, you do whatever makes you comfortable.
Spirits like to come out at night, so you might be more successful then. Now, to the actual writing.
Light a candle (preferably new and black for protection, but whiteâll do) near where youâll be sitting. Sit comfortably. Some people prefer to do so half laying back. Take your pen in whichever hand you want (maybe best in the hand youâre not predominant in? Since you body will have less control over the writing in that case.). Place it on the blank page. Close your eyes. Enter a meditative state. Calm your mind. Let go of all thoughts and just breathe. Relax your arm entirely so that you have no muscular control over it. If your hand starts writing, let it do so. Donât open your eyes. Donât try and see what they wrote, what they drew, anything. Eyes closed, relax. If you feel yourself starting to take control of your hand, let go of the pen and wait until youâve relinquished all hold on the arm thatâs writing. Donât try and understand, interpret or control. Let it flow. Once you feel that it is over, open your eyes, put the pen away, thank the spirit, say goodbye, turn the candle off, throw it away and then, you may look at what was written. By candle light, no danger should come. If you feel unsafe or that something âevilâ or âbadâ has taken a hold of your arm (and it frightens you), just request help from beings of light to protect you, or that your guides come and help you. If you want to communicate with a particular person, you may try by having an image of them or an object that belonged to them with you, but itâs a bit like chatroulette, you could get anyone from anywhere. And they might not even know how to write or speak your language, Remember that.
Bonus:
Samhain is coming up! Itâs a great time to get into spirit work, channeling and such. The veil between our worlds are thinner.
Some writers have been said to write entire books through this method. And some have had lengthy conversations with spirits this way (once youâre good enough, you can keep you eyes open and ask questions.) Either way, stay safe. Have fun, and share your experiences with me!
i just spent a few minutes trying to figure out how to use a tarot deck to cheat on tests,, i think i got it đ
