Thought that short I made about that Boolean Mouth method was too short? Well, I made a full scale, long form version now. It's a great method for quick and easy (I think) stylized expressions for any character. Go watch it.

Since we're already past the point of it being relevant, I did do some TADC human designs of my own ages ago, I think around like ep 3-4. They were for a one-off comic idea.

IMO Pomni has chubby aura even though her circus avatar is a stick figure

Also as a separate idea, I thought it would be super funny if their IRL selves didn't resemble their Circus bodies whatsoever, even down to their genders, but obviously that would be more of a joke than an actually satisfying revelation lol

I also added chapters to each VOD so it's much easier to follow and skip to the places you want to see. I tried to explain what I'm doing as best as possible, so hopefully it's a good learning tool.

I’m curious to know what brushes do u use to draw characters, backgrounds, etc. like what’s the progress when creating a comic or something like the layers or shading, all the good stuff?

Literally just use a circle brush and a soft/airbrush sometimes, all in Paint Tool Sai 2

As for comics, I sort each frame into their own folder, and mostly just draw like I normally do, with basic outline, color, and multiply layers for shading/screen layers for highlights, and a clipping layer to color the outlines.

(This is for that Finale comic, in this case the background is a 3D render)

This weekend, I want to do a livestream where I model a character live so people can see the full process. I'm going to be modelling Hat Kid for it (mostly just because she seems simple enough to do lol) It'll probably start pretty early EST, and I'm going to go through EVERYTHING, even creating a reference for her, and building various face types for her (2D and normal), and doing all the rigging the day after. I'm not going to go full-tutorial during it, but I will try and explain important bits, and ofc people can ask questions if they need it. See you then!

i love histrionic, what a beautiful depiction/examination of the character!! really really wonderful. i'm so curious, did the video evolve at all as episodes came out and we saw more of gangle, or was the vision pretty consistent throughout?

The concept stayed pretty much exactly the same (as you can see with the storyboard), probably because I made the whole thing so abstract that there really wasn't any actual ties to the show itself lol Altho of course I removed Caine and Bubble from the applause at the end after episode 8, but any other changes were just done in the name of a better video
