was watching a video covering yakutia, serbia, and how they prepare for their -95°f winters and it was mentioned something along the lines of “to live without love in a place like this is certain death” when talking about the support the couple we follow along have for each other

that being said, it made me think would snezhnaya have a high suicide rate? havent been caught up with genshin for awhile now but i do recall an old official video mentioning how the tsaritsa is loveless/holds no love (either for her people or for snezhnaya in general) and that also lines up with the achievement name “snezhnaya does not believe in tears”, a mentality typically associated with a cold, ruthless society that does not believe in the “small” things like mental health, with empathy being a hard thing to come by

this yakut couple lived very far from anyone else, and had to drive very far to get into town, but they survive on the love they have for each other, and the support they give when doing the necessary tasks to survive the cold. i imagine without it—like per se in the loveless land of snezhnaya—homes and people would live in dense pockets, because being physically alone is worse than just being emotionally alone, even if none of these neighbours care for each other
