Stain’d-by-the-Sea girlies 🖋️
14 year old mayo was a genius and saved her copy of the Calendar of Unfortunate Events.
just after lunch, a volunteer is slipped an early evening edition of the daily punctilio, in which a bookmarked article reads : nine cows are arrested by authorities under the suspicion of involvement with the v.f.d. the tenth cow, escapes on a stolen tractor. she slips it into her pocket, doing rather poorly to hide her smile. her brother is never going to live this down.
a very happy jacques snicket cow disguise day to those who celebrate !! ✨ 🐄
The way this was my first thought and then I opened the comments
Planning your summer vacation? Visit Stain’d-by-the-Sea’s unofficial tourism site made by an official Stain’d-by-the-Sea enthusiast, a word which here means fan.
I was curious about this so I looked it up on the wayback machine! I think there used to be more – most of the links on it are broken, but it’s still a neat piece of fanwork!
day 29 - draw fanart (bonus points if it's super obscure or unknown)
a series of unfortunate events isn't exactly "obscure" per se but idk any other adults who are into it and i need that to change immediately so here's your sign to go read it
Lemony.
// Ellington Feint at Black Cat Coffee.. 🐈⬛☕ (Whew, guys did I improve?)
FYI, if you wanna see my other art, go to @kapeart-archive; cos I deleted the rest of them, I don't know, I was regretting my artistry.. And if you wanna check out my OCs, go to @ahoysikape-matamis!

A hitherto here unposted interview from March last year featuring some Snicketisms in regards to the strange Italian fable:
“The adventures of Pinocchio are a torrent of misery and abuse, punctuated insensibly by moments of recklessness and bad choices with the very occasional moment of joy,” writes Snicket from an undisclosed location. “Life is like this.”
He follows up this very fraught denouncement with: “It surprised me that Pinocchio is even more troublesome, and thus even more hypnotic, than I had remembered.”
When I ask if the eponymous puppet shares anything in common with the three Baudelaire orphans — Violet, Klaus, and Sunny — Snicket goes full Count Olaf, showing no mercy. “All four of these individuals are flammable,” he says.
one of my favorite things abt reading atwq is that lemony would describe characters by always mentioning this One weird detail every time they appear. examples are moxie’s hat that looks like a lowercase a, kellar’s dynamite hair, and ofc, ellington’s question mark eyebrows.
and most of the time, you look at the illustrations and its not even accurate? like sir thats normal looking hat, it doesnt even look like a lowercase a?
its either lemony just really sucks at describing people, or seth (the illustrator) saw his wack descriptions and went “nah, im not adding that in”
I thought the same thing about moxie’s hat the first time I read atwq so I drew it like the first option, but after thinking about it, I think this is what lemony meant.
personally this is what i think he meant
this sucks so bad i need to (remembers suicide jokes only make my mental health worse) join a secret society revolving around elaborate eye motifs, literature and also fire-fighting

You must have thousands of questions, Baudelaires.
what if you were a TWELVE YEAR OLD BOY in a SECRET ORGANIZATION and then you met a MYSTERIOUS GIRL who keeps BETRAYING YOU but she’s doing it to SAVE her DAD but her dad ends up being EVIL the whole time and you KILL HIM in FRONT OF HER and then she gets ARRESTED
what if you were a TEENAGE GIRL and your DAD gets KIDNAPPED and you meet a MYSTERIOUS BOY and you have to keep BETRAYING HIM but its to SAVE your DAD but then your dad ends up being EVIL and he was LYING to you and the boy KNEW the WHOLE TIME and then he KILLS your DAD in FRONT OF YOU and then you get ARRESTED
I love you if you get the Lemony Snicket reference.
HAPPY 25TH BIRTHDAY TO THE BOOK SERIES OF ALL TIME. i can't do anything except put little things on shirts anymore so. here's a little shirt concept in honor of asoue and my number one little wet cat
