As usual, it all comes down to her sister. She knows that the connection is one of the only reasons the other paragons tolerate her. Do they know that her sister loathes her? They all thinks she is weak because she hates fighting. None of them wanted this war, and yet she is the one that tried to resist her purpose as a Paragon.

Eva wanted to die for so long. Now she is the only one not willing to throw her life away. And yet, these invaders can apparently can use divine blood. And have been stealing the blood from their heroes. Demons. She... was terrified of them.

"She appears to be busy." The explosion of the other enemy base did more damage to V'ehxness than anyone should know about. Though her injuries were greatly reduced by the fact that she was transformed, there must have been some way they had found to do damage to her. Perhaps they used the blood of their own people. Or perhaps her sister was simply harmed by shrapnel. Either way, she insisted she had to be at full strength soon and Eva implored her to rest.

As for the prisoner... Eva knew such tactics were important. That they HAD to win this war or else the weapon of despair would decimate the planet more than this war already had. But she couldn't help but feel bad for the girl regardless. She tried not to think about it. After all, she would be dead soon enough. Maybe, despite it all, she would be at peace with God.

"Have you obtained information from her? You are the only one that can... Did you learn about the weapon? Her memories must contain something..."

𝐁𝐔𝐒𝐘, 𝐇𝐔𝐇? A pale eyebrow quirks at the response, but otherwise Zen'ta refrains from commenting — to reject the answer would be to call Eva a liar, and to say she was lying would insinuate that the Supreme Commander is not busy. And if V'ehxness wasn't seeing her own generals for in-person progress reports, then that means something was wrong. She's not oblivious to the possibility given the last time anyone has seen their leader was before her and Addamaque's expedition to take out one of the enemy bases some time ago; it was the same base that their prison hailed from, now destroyed thanks to the combined efforts of two divine warriors.

Not much was known about what happened that day given that only V'ehxness survived, but Zen'ta had her theories. Theories that she'll gladly keep to herself lest speaking out causes undue disruptions. Unity was needed now more than ever, and while some of the. . . more discontent members of their ranks were no longer with them, that didn't mean she wanted to stir the pot anymore than what was required.

Murvum, Pakron, Addamaque, Quenzelle, and now Parmith. . . how many more heroes will fall to those vile invaders? They couldn't even receive proper burials given how the enemies drained them of their divine blood and reduced them to ash.

Speaking of those pesky things. . .

❝ Unfortunately, it seems that the information this prisoner has is very limited if not outright false. ❞ There's a bite of annoyance to her tone, a furrow to her brow that betrays the composure Zen'ta tries to maintain around others. Viewing that girl's memories brought forth more questions than answers, and while she can't help but be curious. . .

𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖𝐒 𝐁𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑.

She knows better than to let herself be swept away in the oceans of empathy; it's easy to dismiss such feelings as a ❛ 𝐒𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝐄𝐅𝐅𝐄𝐂𝐓 ❜ or ❛ 𝐍𝐄𝐆𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 ❜ of her holy powers, and Zen'ta knew that it was safer to not dwell on those emotions. Her gift from God was meant to aid her people against the onslaught from the invaders in the sky —

Pity, sympathy, or any desire to understand the enemy was simply not allowed.

❝ I have gotten some important information, however. As I've stated in my first report, the invaders have been ordered to protect the weapon for a total of one hundred days, but this squadron has not seen the weapon for themselves. This leads me to believe that the squadron at the other base will be equally ignorant. These soldiers are not aware of what they're defending, but they are aware of its location on their base. ❞

❝ I believe I've gotten as much information from the prisoner about the weapon as I can possibly manage. Now, I'm going to be putting forth all of my energy into the second phase of the plan. Once I've gotten a firm grasp of her history and personality, I'll be ready to infiltrate their base. ❞

It's certainly a daunting task, and Zen'ta has already come to terms with the fact that this is essentially a suicide mission. But if there is even a chance she can successfully defeat the invaders and secure an undeniable victory for her people?

Then it's a cost she's more than willing to take.
