I know it's very likely unintentional, but I love how Crayzar and Tyetaynus both do the "arms and fists raised in the air" thing when they're talking about something they think is cool.

They're brothers after all, so I suppose they would share some common traits and mannerisms, tehe. (Not to mention they're both talking about some kind of weapon/tech in these two scenes...)

lazily stitched together full versions of Hell Bastard, Crayzar's Ballmastr form, and the mural in the heart of Gold Diamond because I've lost control of my life. More rambling under the cut --->

Tyetaynus' "most trusted lieutenant" Hell Bastard. This guy is such a mystery to me- he looks like he could be another Saytar, and even has the 4 fingers like Tyetaynus, but something about him seems so robotic to me, even if the Saytar are still meant to be cyborgs of some kind.

Is he a Saytar? Are those even his real eyes, or part of the helmet? Is his whole face actually just a helmet?? Either way, I like him and I think he definitely didn't have enough screen time.

His design says "BDSM cowboy biker" to me and now I want to draw him in cowboy boots.....

Crayzar's Ballmastr form! It's over-the-top, gaudy, and ridiculous... in other words, it's perfect for him. TToTT Not much else to say.

The mural! I just think it's neat, and I like the colors. This space is also gaudy and very much "Crayzar" lol.

I love love love that Crayzar made a special suit for Gaz (and one for Ace!) and wanted to wait for the "right time" to reveal it to her.... I really love the idea that Crayzar made other mechs and stuff for the rest of the Leptons and I'd love to see that, especially the Leto/DeeDee vehicle?? He just has all these gadgets and gimmicks. ToT <3

Okay, I actually do have some thoughts about that mural:

It's telling us that basically, Crayzar has written Gaz, Ace, Babyball and Ballmaster into his own mythology... and bear in mind, he would've made this BEFORE Tyetaynus showed up and they had to protect Earth from an extra threat. (and an extra-extra threat in the Necromammoths.)

What kind of plans did he originally have? When was he originally going to give Savage Angel to Gaz?

There's so many questions that this raises, but one thing for sure I think is that it shows just how highly he views these characters in particular. Or perhaps, he even views them as his personal pet projects...

I was talking to a friend on Instagram and they brought up how Crayzar probably wants to show Gaz off in the sense that she's like an object he can take credit for. I forgot the exact wording but I can certainly see Crayzar feeling that way about all of them, that he gets to show them off like objects because he built them up.

Now, is there a mural with all the Leptons on it somewhere that we haven't seen? Most likely. I know it's probably just for convenient plot purposes, but lore-wise I like thinking about how he singles these 3 (Gaz, Ace, Babyball) out in particular, to the point of immortalizing them in his own shrine.

I FINALLY finished this little comic thing about Crayzar and Tyetaynus as kids… I forgot to say last time, but I made Little Tyetaynus' hairstyle different because of his line, "Don't you recognize me, Crayzar?" and because his current hairstyle just screams "I had a villain arc and I want everyone to know it" to me. XP

I feel kinda "eh" about the dialogue but I wanted to do a little thing that showed their respective ambitions, the plans they had, and how Tyetaynus perhaps always had a sadistic side. All speculative stuff but I love thinking about them!

Also this was before I started drawing them with the boots, hence the weird placeholder with the one-piece wrapping around their feet...

Crayzar: Understood! I'll do my best!

Tyetaynus: Crayzar?! Wait for me!!

Why must you run off like that? Father told us to stay together.

Crayzar: Look at this! There are so many unique lifeforms out there in the universe, and one day, we'll get to explore them all together!

Crayzar: Tyetaynus?! Why did you do that?

Tyetaynus: It's just a silly flower, brother. There are a million just like it out there, waiting to be conquered.

You'll get to play with all the lower lifeforms you want... and I'll become stronger, so you won't have to worry about me.

I fully believe this started out as the happiest day of Tyetaynus' life, lol. His line, "PROOF of the PERVERSIONS of CRAYZAR" when showing Baby Ball to Demon Saytar makes me think that in the past, Tyetaynus would try to tattle on Crayzar for goofing around and neglecting his duties, but he would not be believed and/or Crayzar would get off easy.

Along with the headcanon I have that Tyetaynus had to work so much harder than Crayzar and doesn't necessarily have the innate power his brother does, I can only imagine it was very "vindicating" for him to find Crayzar playing with "lower lifeforms" and prove not only his suspicions, but also himself as the more "worthy" brother.

(rewatching also made me realize that Tyetaynus is kind of a Daddy's Boy? lol)

I also imagine that Tyetaynus reacted so angrily and offended when Crayzar said, "my brother has forgotten love" because that's very rich coming from Crayzar, who abandoned his own kind and whatever plans he and Tyetaynus may have had before he went AWOL.

some speculative stuff about Crayzar & Tyetaynus as kiddos. I'm not sure what the Saytar lifespan is like, or whether they even HAVE kids, but there was a kid one in concept art so there's my excuse. :P

I headcanon that Tyetaynus was very weak in terms of magical power compared to other Saytar, and so he focused more on physical strength with the aid of technology and military power. Because of this and his smaller size, I also headcanon that Crayzar was tasked with looking after his brother, but would often even abandon that duty to run off and do his own thing- leaving Tyetaynus to run after him and be the responsible one, all while Crayzar still gets all the credit.

I often think about the idea that Tyetaynus and Crayzar were actually "close" before Crayzar left, and I wonder what that would have looked like if we got to see their backstory, so I wanted to explore that a bit. :P

Hello!! I've been wanting to make this fic for a long time, and I'm really excited that I finally get to start and share it.

This will be work 1 for a series that has become bigger than I initially intended, with the goal of examining Crayzar and Tyetaynus' relationship and headcanons I have about them. More info and disclaimers in the Author's Note.

I hope you will join me on this odyssey if it piques your interest, because it's a real labor of nerdy love for this show and its characters. (And I indulgently hope, in some capacity, this project can help spark new interest in the show perhaps.)
