a compilation of the facial feature studies i did for a class- not very exciting, but i learned a lot about how to let go of perfection and let my brush strokes stylize themselves

I’m back! I got really sick a couple months ago and it prevented me from doing much other than quick studies for like a month, and then I didn’t feel like I had a ~right~ to come back until I had stuff worth posting... which I do now!

But since the problem arose, I’m turning the question now to you- what type of content do you like to see from art blogs? Do you like to see all the studies and skill grinding work they do (especially if it means more frequent updates), or do you just want the “highlight reel”, so to speak?

This is one of the core insecurities that keeps me from posting regularly- I’m worried that if it’s not an illustration or some similar finished, conceptual piece, that it’s just filling up my blog with junk and boring people... but I also know that personally, I love seeing people’s basic, daily sketches, studies, and unfinished works, so maybe there’s someone out there who would want to see mine? I’ve been toying with the idea of posting these things to patreon instead (more on that coming), since it would allow me to talk about my process or what went wrong or w/e and also not clog up this blog, but I don’t want to put something behind a paywall if more people are interested in it, you know?
