Finding the Last Note

This piece is played  using HLRU Classic Kalimba. It is about trying to find the perfect fit of notes that should go together. The repetition and variation of melodies is a trial and error process that gives life to the whole work of art.

It starts with the ticking of a clock. It is a paradox between how definite our existence is and how the entire time is used to build up on who we really are.

Kaluskos is an overlay of the noise from everyday life that I have to deal with, being in the house with my parents. It tries to capture the build up of emotions such as irritability that turns into anxiety and then anger through layers of sound. The variety of sound sources are repetitive and up to the listener to figure out and relate with own and personal experiences.

Normally my parents would not consider these varieties of sound as noise as they are accustomed to hearing them. However now that I stay with them for my classes, particularly in the living area which is central to all activities, the sounds that used to be taken for granted are now creating collisions not just between the everyday objects but also between the two different ways of life that we live.

3AM Reflections

This video art is the artist’s attempt to  make an idea or concept possible by giving a specific or definite form to the distortion of time.

Video was shot between 2:45 - 3:00 AM when I usually am not able to sleep or for some reason becomes automatically awake. Memories, regrets, thoughts of what if’s and why not’s usually cross my mind.

New media immersion

I like to immerse myself with the new trends in art. This is one that I like. I also try to see the elements and principles whenever I experience them, because the challenge becomes more exciting and relevant

Artist’s selfie

This was made possible through a study lamp I bought online. It becomes a projector that lights my room’s walls and creates a silhouette of anything that comes across it.

Tears of Flesh

I'm giving back the love you gave me and go back to myself because I was alone in the first place and that's how I learned to live

I wish I didn't open my heart perhaps that way I would not be broken without you

I wish you were not too bright for then perhaps I can see in my own darkness I can feel my own pain

no, you did not erase any of them all still lay here somewhere in my heart yet you, you left me broken without any trace

love in this world is not real people leave when their purpose is over you cannot ignite my heart anymore because you do not belong here any longer

Night sky

Default colors and themes for my mood.

This is a juxtaposition of the finger painted night sky using an app called Sketch, with a photographed night sky at the balcony of our house. Both images set the moon/ white round element as the focal point.

Sa paulit ulit na siklo sa makamundong tahanan Lahat tayo ay may natatanging kahibangan magigising ka na lang nang hindi mo namamalayan nakapaloob ka sa sistema, nagiging sangkap sa kapangyarihan

nalilito, natatakot, kumakapit sa kayamanan o sa kapalaran na hindi maasahan nilulutas ang problema sa sariling kakayahan o di kaya ay nanlilimos ng kaligayahan

kailan ba nagsimula ang ganitong pakiramdam? hindi ba parang pamilyar naman? napasobrahan nga ba sa pakiki-alam? o hind  kaya naman ay nakulangan?

ibinuhos ang lakas at ang kabataan sa mga bagay na hindi naman naiintindihan ano pa ba ang dapat matutunan? ang buhay sa mundo ay  saglit  lang naman

gaya ng lakas na nauubos, ang laman ay naagnas gaya ng singaw na tumatakas, hindi mo hawak ang iyong landas binubo ka lang ng kapirasong alaabok na nangahas isang patak ng tinta na kumukupas

may lunas pa nga ba ang kahibangan? dapat pa nga ba itong pag isipan o hahayaan na lang na ang mundo na mismo ang maghayag ng katotohanan na ang paghahangad nito ay isa ring kahangalan?
