it has been more than a while since he had come face to face with the wind deity, at first, kokushibou thought the other finally gave up in his attempts at merely communicating with the demon. ( or at least it was what kokushibou had hoped … he wasn’t the type others should be around. ) having left the fibonacci ward and already taking to wasting his time amongst the crowds. it had been … quite some time since he last fed as well, and now having indulged himself, he couldn’t help but be haunted by some form of guilt. ( these damnable circumstances. ever since he was killed in his world, these regrets - the guilt and emotions that came with it always followed him. )

so to stand here before the other and see the usual expression he always shared with him. it was odd enough, but the glance soon became nothing short of worry from ren when he suddenly raised his hand to kokushibou’s face. but swiftly does he grasp the other’s wrist in defense.   ❛   you never learn … do you.   ❜   and it is even more odd how the other shows no concern over the situation. normally, one would fear for their life, or even the thought of doing something so uncalled for in his presence. and instead, a gentle thumb continues and wipes something away from his cheek, no … could it be … ? and indeed it was, how could he be so foolish as to let even a mere speck of blood remain on his face? 

he could easily shrug this off with a mere lie - after all, it was his blood.    ❛   i am fine … my face had been merely nicked … i do not need you fussing over something i can heal from.   ❜

not gonna lie like. kokushibou ... or well. michikatsu really did love his family like, in the manga he’s shown smiling and playing with his newborn child while holding the hand of his firstborn. i can’t and we’ll probably never know the extent of his love for his kids but, given how he was abused by his own father and the wooden flute being used as a way michi knew his brother was either in trouble or needed him (and immediately rushed to him btw). he was ... actually a very caring individual. like even through his hatred for his brother before he died, he cried the moment he saw the wooden flute, and since then he’s kept that wooden flute with him for four centuries on his person even when fighting. even when saying ‘ i hate you ‘ over and over about his brother, i don’t think he ever did.
