'Ello there! You can call me Nectar. This is a blog where i'll be shoving any and all rainworld related things i can get my hands on, both reblogs of other peoples posts and some of my own, likely art. Heck, maybe i'll finally go insane and post some of my writing, the sky is the limit.

Saint (it/fae) was born to a slugcat that helped Sliver of Straw in attempts to come up with a Solution. When the slugcat ascended, Saint had only begun to form; during the journey down, it became infused with the Void Sea around it, and developed through the Sea’s essence until ready to be born. Once faer mother fully ascended, Saint essentially re-spawned into the physical world. It doesn’t have the same sense of humor, compassion or vengefulness other scugs may have (because it’s basically a Void Fluid hybrid). Fae’re quite socially awkward and have a sense of… detachment from other scugs; very stoic, inexpressive and hard to read, as well as struggling to read others itself

This critter (they/them) is quite fierce and intense when hunting - especially as the Rot progresses - but when not doing so, they’re much more chill and curious around others. They’ve something of a sense of honor and respect for other species, intuitively understanding the need to kill to survive, and not liking to kill in situations where it’s not needed. They knew Spearmaster, and the two have met a few times before Hunter was sent off with the green neuron

They’re kinda zombie-like as HLL, retaining a weak, vague sense of their former self; this causes them to be more curious and less aggressive than other Rot creatures. They’re blind (due to. cysts over eyes), relying on their tendrils to find their way around, and are in some amount of constant pain. Also their blood has become the same shade of cyan as is present on their Rot

Also also the scar on their eye came from a friendly sparring session with Spears. and their design is sort of inspired by leopards with erythrism :D

Not-quite-siblings, this is a pair of my ancient/benefactor ocs. Their backstory is pretty complicated to explain due to technically being from an au; the key point is that they are both extremely isolated from a young age as a consequence of their species' rapidly dwindling numbers. Baskets (left) raises Basin (right) while still a child herself. She's wary, guarded and brusque, insecure about her capability and at an uncomfortable crossroads with the values she was raised with. Basin is carefree and curious about the spirituality that shaped his world, culture he never really got to participate in. It wears scavenged and refurbished clothes, Baskets' are more tailored and likely hand-me-downs from the few others they know.

Iterator's mechanical arms are so important to me, and I love when people include it in their art. It's a little detail that goes so far. It's a grounding little reminder that they are massive sentient superstructure cubes and all its implicit context.

It makes it feel like they are just playing sock puppets. And that's adorable but also a little uncanny. In a cool existential sorta way.
