For the record, I do know that the difference between choking and strangling is whether the air supply or the blood supply is cut off. But I feel like for the sake of trigger warnings, a distinction between 'some food went down the wrong way' or 'someone put their hands or something else around someone's neck in order to restrict something' is probably pretty useful. So I go with strangling.
