I'm paradoxbeta on most online aliases and I usually go by Para, but any variation off of my username works. I don't do commissions yet but I will in the future. I'm a fan of space, sci fi, spec evo, and anything abstract, but I'm also fandom trash so expect a slush pile of all of my interests. I'm supposed to be a Megaman blog but Rainworld ruined me. im not sure if you know what im talking about but what exactly is that thing your characters sometimes do with their bodies in the fleshtube au? where their skin is kind of peeling off

Depends what exactly you mean:

This is called "unzipping" and it's when a wetware in human form loses their shape. This is a real, physical transformation.

When it's colorful and/or abstractly patterned like this, it doesn't have a name, but it's a separate process. The "soul"/total consciousness of a Kernel can be represented as a "thoughtform" which looks like a mass of colorful flesh and can represent some qualities of that Kernel's emotional state in the moment.

Example: Thoughtforms of Sheriff and SD's (hypothetical, non-canon) "afterimages" (preserved remnants of deceased Kernels' minds), which represent loss of identity & spotty memory and erratic behavior respectively.

This is to say that sometimes Kernels are drawn with their thoughtforms intersecting with/consuming their human form usually to communicate some sort of overbearing emotion or mental condition such as death/panic/sense of separation from their body/dread/honestly anything. This is not a physical transformation but a stylistic way to make some character's thoughts or otherwise internalized events outwardly visible to the reader

who is molly?

Who ISN'T Molly is the better question because she has a bunch of visually radically different AUs. In seriousness though the main tenets of her character remain quite consistent across universes. Above are her Modern/Humanized and Original (Bugeggs AU) forms.

Molly is a mild-mannered woman. She's never rocked the boat substantially in any of the social spaces she's been in. The people around her often describe her as patient, dependable, pleasant, considerate, and very rarely have negative things to say about her character, her work, or her presence overall.

Unfortunately, this is her problem... Molly is the perfect side element in the life of everyone she meets. Her polite tone, simple way of living, milquetoast music taste, bad fashion, subtle dorkiness, and consistently sound advice are best nestled in the back of the social roster while the more interesting/lively/mysterious/otherwise more something people lead the direction of the group's story. She's accepted everywhere, but easily replaced. She's the perfect manifestation of an acquaintance. She's someone you imagine you could find anywhere. She spends her days hiding in plain sight, wondering--not quite yearning, but wondering-- what it might be like to be someone's first choice.

Molly has long been aware that something intrinsic to who she is denies her thrilling relationships, but is too true to herself to make the mistake of trying to fit into other molds. So she pursues the things that make her fulfilled functionally alone, save for her tarantula companion Sweetpea: A manifestation her kind-of-weird-but-also-not-actually-subculture love for insects & other invertebrates. (In her original AU where she's a huge bug, Molly has a love of primate-like creatures from her home planet, and Sweetpea is a creature that sort of looks like a meerkat/penguin/ape.)

Ironically all of this not-special-enoughness makes me think she is the most special woman in the whole world. 🫶

Molly finds life and the process of growing exceptionally beautiful and important. It's for this reason she's considering being a mother, but has to first evaluate her career, her (nonexistent) love life, and her recently discovered fertility issues. Molly's relationship to potential motherhood is complex so this is just an overview.
