Plus I’ve been in Team Jikook since forever (after a period of Vmin) and I really don’t get what they’re referring to? If we’re talking about Larries then let’s tackle the problematic. We’re gonna have an introductory lesson today for the people who aren’t familiar with Larry StylinsonThe toxicity of Larry Shippers 101:1st of all, just because a person ships Larry doesn’t mean they’re cray cray. That ship was a sweet self-sailing ship. The friendship was real and their chemistry was on point. Their families were close and they always set twitter on fire with their flirty tweets. They were honestly very very very close.The ISSUE stems from calling Louis’s girlfriend a beard and sending hate to her. If I was Louis and someone sent death threats to the person I love I’d flip shit too. But it didn’t stop there. Even after requesting for everyone to quit shipping LS, they didn’t. And it came to the point where they sent hate to his (now late) mother, his sisters and anyone around him who spoke against it. Mind you, these were the same people who used to support it bc it was fun. This is the reason why their (Harry and Louis’s) relationship got strained.Harry in general hates drama. “Do not explain, do not complain.” and Louis can’t stand to watch the people he cares about get hurt. The toxicity comes from people who still insists on shipping them even when their idol clearly said not to and expressed how distressed he was about it.Shit toxic Larry Shippers do:• Insists they know Louis and Harry’s sexuality• Treats Louis like the gay, flambuoyant one(Puts his masculinity in question bc he is small and has a scruffy thin voice - aesthetics right?)• Harry is probably bisexual• Blames everything on management(LeT tHeM cOmE oUt YoU eViL bEiNgS)• Insists Eleanor is a beard(A cover to hide their very gay relationship)• That Eleanor doesn’t make Louis happy and is the root cause of the problem so the solution would be to send her hate and death threatsGeneral Western Culture:• Bringing up ships in front of the idols(Which usually would be okay if it’s just platonic cute things but they’re actually talking about the real thing which- even if the idol was gay.. you don’t fucking out them on their behalf before they are ready)• Showing edits of them kissing on live TV(This is an actual thing. They did that. Wow.)• KCon had actual open mic fanfic readings - CrInGe• No respect for a celebrity’s privacy.(You chose to be famous so you’re gonna have to deal with the consequences. It’s my mouth and I can say what I like.)So if we’re talking about the now and if anyone can be as bad as Larry shippers, I have a ship in mind. One where they are populated with people who actually:• Invalidate another relationship for their own(To the extent of aggressive mockery)• Send hate and death threats to them(Even worse this time because it’s actually towards a member and that puts a lot of question to their sincerity of their role as stans in this fandom. Do you stan the group for your ship or for the group?)• Blames the management(BigHit is tryna seperate them. That other couple is a cover up. This is all BigHit’s fault. - covering a gay couple for another gay one just makes so much sense y'all.)• Voluntarily attacks other people who don’t believe/support their ship because “NO! Yours is NOT real. Mine is. Mine is BETTER. Yours is wrong. Yours is incest. Yours are just bestfriends. Yours are just brothers.)Local K Culture when it comes to ships however:• Keeps everything PG• Makes it out as a marketable joke/topic of interest - fan service, etc.• Don’t push it on their idols• Respects their privary (tabloids are a different thing)South Korean Locals:You may think that South Korea is more accepting but there’re a lot of different types of Koreans. Mostly the older generation and some new ones that are still against LGBTQA. Just because a lot of people don’t care about your sexuality doesn’t mean the die hard antis are non-existent or less powerful. Many gay korean celebrities have committed suicide. They are still persistent so if you’re a celebrity that wants to come out, you better be strong enough to handle the heat. Don’t forget how ruthless K netizens can be.All in all. It’s easy to lump everyone together into one giant stereotype. And sometimes it’s for good reason. Like how you can make hating a member a culture? And by not calling out your fellow shippers when they talk shit about him and send him hate/death threats; instead excusing their behavior by calling it a joke (you don’t joke about someone’s life. That’s disgusting.) you become part of the problem.Another the problem with shipping culture is that it falls into fetishizing when people start to shape real human beings into their preferences and believe it in real life. Misguided into thinking they’re pro-lgbtqa but instead of pondering on the reality, turn their real life otp into some heteronormative couple where one plays the girl and the other wears the pants when the whole point of it is that there are same sex couples and the least you can do is rightfully honour their masculinity when we’re talking about them irl. Having this warped idea of what the company is doing to the boys and what everyone else is to their otp and shaping it conveniently to reinforce the idea of their ship being real and expressing negative emotions over a thing that threatens what hasn’t even been proven true. (I’ve repeated some points over and over hoping some people will actually get it. I’m so well and truly sick of this shit.)

This was needed, after we were being called the “Larries of ARMY” so so many times.

And I always thought, do they even know what they are calling us? Do they even realize how much of an insult that is, to be put on the same level as these toxic delulud beings, while most of them do exactly that?

Even if I never looked further into this topic, I knew a lot about it from hearings. And that was already enough for me to take these out callings, as an huge insult.

Anyway, those that call others this, should first look at themselves and also first, need to know what the hell they are calling others.

I am a Larrie and I’m not ashamed about it, I recognize that so many people are.. should I say addicted? A life around Larry. I never hoped death to anyone and never say who had the fault for not coming out. I ship them cause you can admit with me they are so cute, so much chemistry, so much coincidences.

I don’t like it either when most of the Larry shippers go on Twitter and when someone posts something like, idk a flower? “LARRY OMG IS SO REAL”

I don’t think being a Larrie is an insult. We should just understand the target of their fandom, they have to grow and one day they’ll understand.

I know that what they do is disrespectful (idk I’m italian I’m sorry if it is wrong), is even disgusting for some sides. But when you try to make them understand they will hardly try more to show that the ship is real. So let them be, the best thing you can do for making it stop is to ignore it. Why do you think they post?

If no one will like those thing they’ll stop.
