** Update **
Due to teaching commitments and lack of time the exhibition I was planning in July 2017 didnât happen. When I first started this research project it was to coincide with the anniversary of the partial decriminalisation of the Homosexual Act. I was able to attend many incredible events last year as many libraries and organisations had events celebrating this first step (for men).
I have now re-shifted the focus to include women and men from 50s, 60s and 70s. Still using personal stories and archives!Â
I have just started researching Arena Three! and have just ordered Tomboys and Batchelor Girls - đ Books already on my shelf! Time to start đ
**Update** Am planning the next part of the installation.  Finding archive material for Auntie Maureen to perform, as July is fast approaching!
Title: Today: Leo Abse. Subject: Interview with Labour MP campaigning for decriminalisation of homosexuality. Source: BBC Archive.
Really interesting listening to the archive material from BBC. Some of it is unbelievable!
Filmed on valentines day, Geoff and Chris share part of their story!
So wonderful to hear how they kept their relationship strong, they have spanned over five decades and are still going strong.Â
The lovely Geoffrey and Christopher shared part of their journey today! Lovely looking through personal #archives.
Want to be part of a panel discussion? shout out for help!
The panel will take place in central London on 21st February.Â
The List LGBT Network are looking to invite panellists who have been affected by anti-LGBT laws in the UK. For example: · A gay man who was prosecuted prior to the decriminalisation of male homosexuality. · A teacher who was affected by Section 28 â either helping LGBT+ students with coming out or perhaps harassed themselves for their own sexual orientation. · Someone who might have been unable to adopt or who may have lost custody of their children due their sexual orientation or gender identity.Â
These are just examples and we are keen to hear from anyone with a story to tell. If you CAN HELP please contact Leni at [email protected]

Delighted that I will be heading back to Brighton on Valentineâs Day to film Geoffrey and Christopher a love story that spans five decades despite the public opinion towards homosexulaity and the laws of the time. #loveislove
Very excited about all the different events happening during LGBT History Month. Â
Am really looking forward to sharing the first video from this project. Â

âHomosexuals, on the other hand, are inherently incapable of ordinary normal married life.âÂ
Had an amazing day at LAGNA and LSE Library looking through the newspaper clippings in the 50s.
Off to Brighton today! Hoping for a lovely sunset :-)
Just made it down to Brighton in time to see the sun setting! Had an amazing morning with the lovely Geoffrey and Christopher. Â Really feel privileged to find out about their lives over the last fifty years.Â
Wonderful evening! So great to see archives come alive through performance! Lovely to meet so many passionate people, looking forward to the many events as we approach the 50th anniversary.
