4/12/96: CF Ken Griffey Jr. blasts his second homer of the game, a tape-measure three-run shot that goes over the Hard Rock Cafe at the SkyDome.

The "MOONSHOT" off RP Giovanni Carrara marked Griffey's 5th HR of a "ripe" '96 season, his 2nd of the game taking SP Paul Quantrill deep earlier in the 3rd inning. Griffey went 3 for 4 on the evening totaling 4RBIs and 1BB.

Despite scoring 4 runs over the final 3 innings, the Blue Jays were unable to overcome the hot bat of the "Home Run King" and faced a (9-6) L in the box-score.

The Mariners would manhandle the Jays over the weekend series sweeping them (3-0) and out scoring them (32-13) in the process.

The "Home Run Derby" was initially a 60’s television show that pitted the top Home Run hitters of Major League Baseball against each other in a 9 out contest.

"Home Run Derby" aired in syndication from January 9th - July 2nd, 1960.

The Toronto Blue Jays 2014- 2015 MLB “Regular Season” schedule…

The Jays will "anticlimactically" open and close the 2015 season against division opponents the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Boston Red Sox will roll into town for the always HIGHLY anticipated "Canada Day" game on July 1st, 2015.

September could be MASSIVE if the AL East is not decided and playoff positions still loom. The Yankees, Red Sox, Orioles and Rays will all visit the Rogers Center come the Fall.
