INTRO POST CAUSE I REALIZED IVE NEVER MADE ONE

im kaz!!!! im currently a theatre student and i will have brainworms about teen wolf seasons 5-6 until the sun fucking dies. currently im trying to plot out a season of canon divergent fanfic (screenplay form) that will most likely be finished in 1-6 business years knowing how long it takes my busy gay ass to do stuff. i am mostly on tumblr to yell into the void abt teen wolf :-)

my favourites from the show r character: corey and mason season: now OBJECTIVELY 1 or 2, but i love the dismal tone of 5 a lot episodes: 1x11, 2x08, 3x18, 4x04, 5x11, 6x07 (not a 6 7 joke i promise) micdrop: who are you really!!!!!!

im writing this into my thing but it's gonna be a while so im sharing one of my biggest tw headcanons: MASON HAS OCD POST SEASON 5.

he's already the guy that figures shit out making him prone to inspecting thing when he needs to. and like. PERSONALLY. and maybe it's because i have ocd myself. but REGARDLESS. if i had holes in my memory that i didn't know i had until someone pointed it out. and said holes were from a mass murderer taking over my body and MURDERING PEOPLE. i would be inspecting my memory for the rest of my fucking life.

like. i think he'd have a panic attack if he blacked out at a party. i think he'd be deeply unnerved if he forgot what he had for breakfast a few days ago. i think he'd keep a journal of everything and quiz himself and do memory exercises and make SURE he knows where he's been at all times. maybe he'd even keep up with the news to make sure there haven't been "animal attacks" recently. and like, yeah, they all watched the beast's soul get evaporated by the pike or whatever, but ocd doesn't actually respond to concrete logic like that. ocd makes sure there's always reasonable doubt.

and like, of course his friends care, but they haven't been trained or briefed on how to deal with ocd, and it's like, 2013, so the chances that they even know how it WORKS are slim. so they kinda just keep trying to reassure him, which only makes it worse, and eventually they have to give him an intervention cause it's getting a little bit concerning how much he's certain that the beast is gonna come back if he loosens his grip.

i think mason's wayyyyy too smart and kind for it to not take that kind of toll but thats just a theory a game theory or whatever

thiam is weirdly an orpheus and eurydice story, if you think about it. i once heard someone say that all great love stories are based off of orpheus and eurydice or odysseus and peneleope, and i mean. liam literally brings theo back from hell, and then they spend the rest of their time together going to drastic lengths to find one another, and constantly looking back to make sure the other is there in some way or another. i could also just be insane.

mason and liam are arguing because liam started dating theo and mason absolutely does NOT support this decision.

meanwhile, theo and corey are just sitting in the background and sharing a bag of chips.

and then corey goes, “for the record, i agree with mason.”

and theo’s not even offended. because theo also agrees with mason.

theo: he’s got a point.

liam: WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON??

theo: mason’s.

because theo would never pretend mason’s concerns aren’t valid. he knows exactly why mason doesn’t trust him.

he was there.

he remembers.

he was the problem.

so, you get this absolutely ridiculous argument where liam is the only person defending theo.

not even theo is defending theo.

mason: theo literally tried to kill scott.

theo: that’s true.

liam: that was years ago! and even scott moved on from this.

mason: theo manipulated the pack and tried to break it apart.

theo: also true.

liam: PEOPLE CHANGE.

corey: theo committed several felonies too.

theo: very helpful corey, thanks.

theo: it’s also true, though.

liam: do you want me to break up with you??

theo: no, dear.

so, theo and corey go back to sitting there and eating chips.

the argument goes on for like another twenty minutes.

liam gets increasingly defensive.

mason gets increasingly exasperated.

theo and corey finish the chips.

and eventually corey just quietly says:

“you know they’re gonna get married one day, right?”

absolute silence.

mason: unfortunately yes.

theo: *chokes on a chip*

liam: *turns bright red*

and the funniest part is that mason’s not actually worried theo will hurt liam.

that’s not the real issue anymore.

the real issue is:

“liam, out of all the people in beacon hills, THIS is the one you picked?”

because from mason’s perspective, liam had options.

theo raeken was a conscious choice.

and that’s somehow even more concerning to him.

ohhh corey, corey, corey... you had oh so much potential...

corey genuinely could've been a stealth predator. hiding in plain sight, stalking someone, and driving them insane. noises in the dark, shadows in the corner no one else can see, things randomly flying across the room. and while he may not be the strongest fighter, he has the upper hand because his opponent can't actually see him. they'd just be throwing shots in the dark. he could even go up against other supernatural creatures if he learned how to contain his heartbeat and control his chemosignals. if he could learn that, he'd be incredibly hard to beat.

obviously his first step would need to be learning how to fight, but i'm of the opinion that chimeras specifically have an innate ability to do so, mainly based on tracy being able to fight multiple full grown men despite likely never having been in a fight before. corey CAN fight if he just lets his instincts take over, he's just too scared of himself to give up that much control to the side of himself that he hates. my mind goes to freddy krueger whenever i think about corey using his powers to fight.

for the most part, though, i'd say he'd be a stealth predator, as i've already mentioned. if he had gone into a violent rage after the doctors like josh and tracy did, then we likely would've seen him stalking someone while invisible and doing things to freak them out until they were too panicked to think, and that's when he'd strike.

piggybacking off of this emotionally bc im literally crazy.

i think corey is actually quite a ruthless person. there was the way he reacted to lydia having a hole in her head in eichen house, which like, MIGHT have been larping as evil to get theo off his back. but he has a lot of moments where he can't bring himself to care about stuff. (i dont wanna list them cause i have like 50,000 times just search the corey bryant tag in my blog TRUST).

anyways. i think being severely neglected by his parents definitely did not teach him how to gaf. and this doesnt mean he doesnt have emotions, but he defiinitely has a bit of underused empathy. and i think that might be a huge part of why he's such a bystander, because he's scared of letting the power he has go to his head. he saw a little too much of himself in theo and it freaked him out. he doesn't wanna go too far. that's why he's so evasive with it.

he's got everyone convinced that he's not physically capable of fighting when in reality that couldn't be further from the truth

and i DO think he'd be really really good with it if he tried.....
