Hey, wierd ask time!

I have confessional booth and spend a lot of time staring at the blank wall where the crucifix should be, and I want to replace it.

And I love your catman!Simon in his little hood-snood-thing. He's adorable. And I was just wondering, for the love of Jesus (obviously), is there a possibility of a tits-out harness version for me to hang in my booth and stare at for hours a day?

Based off this thing I saw where Simon gets pissy, shouts at Grace and throws something and Grace, being the sensitive guy he is, starts crying and Simon, not used to his words having any sort of power like that, instantly is like I'm the worst person ever. Grace has been nothing but kind and patient with him and here he is making him cry. He apologizes over and over again, sent into a baffling state of desperation and hysteria to try to make up for it.

Grace shows him mercy, sinking down and giving him a hug and a kiss to the forehead to talk him off the edge. He then tells Simon he still needs time to get over it and the hurtful words Simon said, but that Simon doesn't deserve to punish himself so severely, just be more controlled next time. The start of Simon learning hes the only one in control of himself, he can't make excuses here and he won't be punished severely which creates even more pressure for him to grow as person.

Interestingly enough, cult survivors can still have religious ties. For some they can break that bond almost instantly and flee, but for others who have had connections within the congregation, have had a deep love for their spiritual beliefs, it can be really difficult to disengage from that.

So it is possible for Simon to see Grace as an angel, especially at first if he just appeared through some portal or light or something, because it might be the only logical thing that Simon can think of. And the thing is, Simon likely only recently got out of it, forcibly. There's going to be a lot of damage and confusion running through his mind so I definitely don't see the worship thing being something legit unless it's like, playful bedroom type stuff going on, in which I hesitate to say whether or not Simon would be okay with that sort of playful thought.

But every person is going to be different with it though. Most people who write bloodymary or even just fanfic for Iron Lung have zero cult experience or surviving one, so they're just doing their best. If it is true white savior complex rather than it being simply circumstantial, then yeah, that's a huge question of why is it necessary for the worship thing to be there.

I treat my Simon very carefully in this area since I've put him into Subnautica.

Forgot I posted that and almost shit my pants off when I saw this long ass thing in my notifs

but highkey the thing I don't like is that in canon Simon actively dismisses religious talk and is a character who is shown to choose his own beliefs in the end (even if when he's pleading with Ava he tries to get her to believe him)

and obviously (because no shit) fandom culture isn't one to follow canon but I feel like it's important to keep characterization and those little parts that complete the character

It starts to get weird when he's like "this man is an angel. He saved my life I am eternally in debt" afterwards when he's not actively dying and just had a traumatic amputation and other various crazy shit happen to him™️

I think him thinking Grace is an Angel makes sense when he's being rescued or just delirious and bed ridden but I'm not a fan of it when the whole story is built on it

ALSO it gets weird when people refuse to dive into Grace's trauma and use him just to support and comfort Simon. Maybe that's just bad writing but when it's connected to the whole angel thing I just talked about, its so weird

Maybe I'm not one to talk about being weird though because my whole personality revolves around cat!simon

Sometimes people do the cult thing and treat it like any other religion OR they go so extreme with it I'm genuinely sick

Anyways I'm getting off point I just personally think the angel thing is ooc for simon especially when he's hinted to have always stood with his own beliefs
