The dead man seemed to have a pistol of his own which had caught her off guard just a bit. Typically gun laws there made that irritating to do in general which is part of why she was grabbing the weapon he had concealed carefully.

“... that’s a first, En.” Usually people didn’t dare open their mouths whenever she was getting fired up enough to pull the trigger. One could say that she wound up feeling more comfortable shooting than being in a conversation but, she was smart enough to catch on to the concern for obvious reasons. “Let me tell you something, if you’re that worried then you’re free to stop me whenever you wish but...
