@imdeadtiredtm and I are having a blast writing with the second chapter of Apotheosis. (Even if we've rewritten the beginning like THREE times already) Jamie is such a fun character to write. You have no idea.

Not at all! I feel ya, completed Hijack fics are far few in between. I honestly only have a few completed ones to recommend, and by few I mean few, because I am a very picky reader and the littlest thing can put me off a fic. That, and back when I got into Hijack, AO3 still confused tf outta me and so I've only just recently got back into hijack fiction, just in time for the renaissance~ (Sorry in advance for the super short list).

Of the Northmost Winds and Skies by xxiiyu (@jjackfrost) - Masterpiece. Chefs kisses all around. Totally would not confess to binge-reading this until 4 am on my nth reread.

Soul of a Druid by SilverlySilence - One of the first hijack fics I read since I so desperately wanted to read one with a monstrous word count. Good fic, great fic. Bonus fact, it's a series!

Save A Village... Get A Bride? by EmerialynCodeVenice (@emerialyncodevenicenice) - I was giggling and kicking my feet the whole time. Also God!Jack.

The Golden Light by alkaline_frog (@alkalinefrog) - You know what, I'm not even gonna say anything. I'm gonna let you go in blind. Read it and let it change your life.

But but but! I can't in good conscience go without recommending you some in-progress gems of hijack fics. The worth every wait for a chapter fics:

If you Ever Find Me by twiafom (@twiafom) - It's got Hijack, it's got good writing, it's got hijack, and it's got Norse lore. Ticked all my boxes.

The Ripple of a Snowflake by EmerialynCodeVenice (@emerialyncodevenice) - If you haven't read it yet. All I can say is... Read. Now.

Son of a Witch by twiafom - Hawt dog here they are again! The thing that I love about the fic is that Jack doesn't time travel back to Berk (nothing wrong with that either!) and the author writes Jack and his back story really well, you'd read it and be like 'yeah, sounds about right.' Also, arranged marriage!

@seafoamdew this is definitely shameless self-advertising but me (@imdeadtiredtm ) and @that1notetaker have been working on a fic called Apotheosis: Wreckage Wrought (A Road Trip Gone Upways) - where Jack and Sophie get stuck at around 500 b.c and a deeply outcasted/runaway hiccup joins them as they travel around and try to find a way home.

We only got one chapter but we've already started on the second and we have the whole thing outlined and been brainstorming/outlining for like,,, six months ljdfhjah, anyway i hope you enjoy it <3

There’s buzzing in the house. Not like flies, or a tv turned to static, but something burrowing in the flesh of his brain. Gaining volume as Jack walks.

 “—Jack, Jack!”

“Yeah,” Jack turns half-way, “sorry, what?”

But Jamie doesn’t need to clarify, both of them stare at Jack’s trail of footsteps leaving frost like cracked glass. The wood cracking and warping from the sudden cold, the jagged edges jutting out like a wound.

Jack stares at it for a beat. “My bad.” 

“Mom’s going to kill you.” 

“She’s not my mom—”

“Ok, but she’s still going to kill you. It’s a mom thing.”

“I pre-date her though. I’m like, older than her great-grandma.”

“Does not matter. Might not outlast her after this.”
