Can we stop using "still lives with their parents" or "unemployed" or "doesn't have a drivers license" or "didn't graduate high school" as an insult or evidence that someone is a bad person? Struggling with independence or meeting milestones is not a moral failing.

I think it's so interesting how marginalizations- which is what a lot of these are- get individualized and then presented as moral failures to distract from how people end up systematically disadvantaged. Like, if we think of "didn't graduate high school" as a reflection of someone as a person, then we can dismiss the person altogether and we don't have to grapple with how our own credentials in education is a privilege... like this is kind of the main signs of discrimination and bigotry right?
