Many people credit Takki with being the face of Johnnys Jr. at its golden era (1996-1999), both Takki and Tsubasa said before that Go was the most popular of all the Jrs.
Go quickly become fan favorite because of his “mischievous boy” look but the unpolished natural performance skill he had made him popular very fast. He was made front member or center of all Jr. performances. As a Jr. he appear in drama starting from 1994 with super idol Uchida Yuki and appear in the 1995 taiga in the spring, as the only Johnny’s member for all of them. He also become lead of his first drama while still as a Jr. with cast full other well known actor and actress. At the time it was considered a first for a Jr. to appear in dramas in that fashion.
The height of his popularity combine with “GoKen combi” made Johnny’s create the very first Johnny’s Jr. main concert “It’s Summer! It’s Festival! Johnny’s Jr. Carnival” where GoKen become the main performer and newly entered TakiTsuba being their strong support. That fall, Go and Ken debut in V6 two year after they become Jrs. In a way the very first Jr. concert could have been a passing of the torch from Go to Takki and Ken to Tsubasa for them to continue the Jr. legacy.
