For now on in F1 nobody should serve a penalty. Just add the time onto the end of the race and fight about it with the stewards. Because that's the precedent they're setting. I am sure this will go well and won't backfire at all...

I'm sorry but overturning a race result for one (1) driver because of a systematic issue that affected multiple drivers is bullshit. If the FIA wanted to overturn Gasly's penalty they should have also overturned them for all the other drivers, regardless if they served it or not. Alpine and Gasly kept winging on about losing a podium that he "deserved" when he was only running in p3 because the drivers in front of him served a bullshit penalty. Like he didn't get that position on merit. Like George and Oscar both ended being doubly punished; George had to serve a drive-through penalty for failing to serve a penalty that shouldn't have happened that he possibly would have gotten disqualified is he didn't serve which resulted in him being out of the points and Oscar who is also being demoted because McLaren made him serve the penalty.

Like if I'm George Russell and I'm in the middle of a championship battle against my teammate and I score ZERO points in a race because of a bullshit penalty that is overturned for someone else who is hardly relevant in the championship I would be absolutely fuming.

Also it sets such a horrible precedent that if teams really wanted they could gamble not serving penalties on the principal that they can get them overturned almost a week after the race happens.

I think ultimately the FIA should not be able to change race results after a certain period of time because waiting FIVE days to change the results is so unfair to everyone else.

On a post about how much racing the broadcast missed because they were focused on the WAGs' reactions which the OP had specified was not hate towards the WAGs, who do not control what is being broadcast btw, it isn't really surprising the amount of misogyny that these women, and women involved in motorsport in general still face.

It's really telling when they describe WAGs as "jobless" when they all have successful careers and followers outside of the sport. Just because they are dating some rich man doesn't mean that you can disregard their own achievements.

Then, of course, they gotta attack the female fans. First we only watch the sport because we find the drivers hot, then we only watch the sport for the WAGs. Regardless of what we do, we cannot win with them because trust me, I am not putting myself through 2 hours of suffering at fuck o'clock at night just to watch some pretty women.

i don't want to hear a word calling oscar whiny for this. they HAVEN'T been free to race all year. the number of times they've asked oscar to defer to his teammate is insane and now it's the other way around they have nothing to say. he's played the "team game" they've been so insistent on and has every right to be frustrated with the fact they've suddenly dropped it
