anyways my final conspiracy theory verdict abt oscar vs norris quali is that mclaren doesn't trust the merc upgrades to be reliable after being burned in pretty catastrophic ways. so they told norris, who already was going to be out of the points no matter what, to full send the engine and see what he could get out of it. while they told oscar (who could still qualify in the points) to drive more conservative as to not risk a pu outage or meltdown. clearly the merc pu is fine now as we've seen, but like they had both drivers bow out of china due to mercs pu shit it seems reasonable to be cautious.
