IVE BEEN LOVING FA SO FAR TBH... its so much more peaceful than tumblr but so much more limited, in both function and userbase, and theres no real way to get FA "famous" unless you post consistently for years and years because of the lack of algorithm - but ive only been on there for like 6 months and i already feel a sense of community and see a lot of really amazing art and artists ... getting likes and reblogs was never really why i was on tumblr in the first place. i love it so much but it sucks so bad that a ton of my mutuals arent on there, and i cant make 1000 near incomprehensible text posts a day U_U

I MISS YOU TOO!! I MISS ALL MY MUTUALS SO BAD... thats the main reason i keep coming back once every 3 weeks to post some bullshit and delete it later that same day....sigh

i miss posting my art and random thoughts on tumblr so bad and i miss all the amazing art and artists i was exposed to and interacted with... i want to make a new account but then i remember all of the insane discourse i had to tolerate in the process and im not sure if its worth it . i remember that one week in 2023~ish where i had to unfollow like 12 people because they were reblogging shit like "i dont care if youre autistic, if you exclusively watch cartoons for kids you are genuinely braindead and have no capacity for critical thinking" with zero self awareness or compassion. and id see well-meaning people trying to engage with this argument in earnest as if it's sentiment that holds any sort of relvance or importance other than being incredibly unnecessarily cruel to an extremely small group of disabled people they think are mildly cringe. it upset me so much that im still thinking about it like 3 years later.

that was also just a random example. some of the things ive seen on here have stuck with me in a negative way so harshly that i still think about them and cringe years later. it feels like a monkeys paw type scenario where i have to feel like shit once a week in order to feel closer to artists i admire and friends/mutuals im very fond of....

also like 50% of the reason i left when i did was because i think i somehow broke my tumblr algorithm because it kept reccomending me insanely triggering blogs like neo-nazis and lolicons and school shooter fan blogs literally every time i logged on NO MATTER HOW MANY I BLOCKED. it was getting to the point where i couldnt log in without seeing something that'd make me have a panic attack plastered all over MY OWN BLOG saying "we reccomend these, if you like this one". it made me terrified that people would assume i follow them when in reality i would block them on sight... and my OCD was getting worse and worse so it wasnt even remotely worth it anymore.

ive been on tumblr for so, so long and its changed me in so many different ways, good and bad. ive met some of the worst and best peoole here. ive seen so much inspiring art that made me glad to be alive and so much insane discourse that made me wish i had never been born. im sure anyone else whos been here for like 10 years would agree with me. theres nowhere like it anywhere on the internet

i know i said i dont use tumblr anymore but thats not entirely true. im sorry im a liar but tumblr is my first love and my mistress and ive been on it since i was like 12 and its been invaluable for my autistic instinct to organize everything so i cant just abandon it entirely. mostly because i need somewhere to post my cartoon screenshots which im still doing on @screenchive but thats pretty much it. also sometimes i lurk in the fionna and cake tag when a new episode comes out
