Get yourself a friend you can have lengthy conversations about feminist theory with first thing in the morning ❤️
Kris is very creative with how to deal with annoying souls
[ PrismColor ]
Let me defend you.
So if Kris is Edgeworth, then who’s Phoenix? I think Noelle. She: was childhood friends with them but hasn’t seen them in a while (the shared backstory), tries to see the best in everyone (pretty much all of ch 2), cares a lot to the point of self sacrifice (she was used up), and at this point I think she would eat glass if it was for someone she loved (if you don’t know AA lore this is something Phoenix actually does). And the ring stuff, with the official Capcom AA rings vs the whole thorn ring situation?
Berdly can be Maya, as a treat :)
i think the near-extinction of people making fun, deep and/or unique interactive text-based browser games, projects and stories is catastrophic to the internet. i'm talking pre-itch.io era, nothing against it.
there are a lot of fun ones listed here and here but for the most part, they were made years ago and are now a dying breed. i get why. there's no money in it. factoring in the cost of web hosting and servers, it probably costs money. it's just sad that it's a dying art form.
anyway, here's some of my favorite browser-based interactive projects and games, if you're into that kind of thing. 90% of them are on the lists that i linked above.
A Better World - create an alternate history timeline
Alter Ego - abandonware birth-to-death life simulator game
Seedship - text-based game about colonizing a new planet
Sandboxels or ThisIsSand - free-falling sand physics games
Little Alchemy 2 - combine various elements to make new ones
Infinite Craft - kind of the same as Little Alchemy
ZenGM - simulate sports
Tamajoji - browser-based tamagotchi
IFDB - interactive fiction database (text adventure games)
Written Realms - more text adventure games with a user interface
The Cafe & Diner - mystery game
The New Campaign Trail - US presidential campaign game
Money Simulator - simulate financial decisions
Genesis - text-based adventure/fantasy game
Level 13 - text-based science fiction adventure game
Miniconomy - player driven economy game
Checkbox Olympics - games involving clicking checkboxes
BrantSteele.net - game show and Hunger Games simulators
Murder Games - fight to the death simulator by Orteil
Cookie Clicker - different but felt weird not including it. by Orteil.
if you're ever thinking about making a niche project that only a select number of individuals will be nerdy enough to enjoy, keep in mind i've been playing some of these games off and on for 20~ years (Alter Ego, for example). quite literally a lifetime of replayability.
What I think your favorite flower in Chapter 5 says about you:
Aqua: You're just a fun-loving guy you likes to be a little silly sometimes! Why does everyone keep asking if you're fine? Of course you're fine! Look, you're smiling! Stop asking if you're fine!!!
Seth: Oh the gifted kid syndrome hit you hard, huh
Orange: You refuse to admit that something is too high up for you to reach. The day you ask a tall person to get something for you is the day you DIE
Green: You're a pretty chill guy. You like to just go with the flow and take what life gives you. Quick question though: when was the last time you did something for yourself instead of trying to please everyone else?
Yellow: So did you get your autism diagnosis when you were a kid, or are you now struggling to get people to take you seriously as an adult because "well you've made it this far just fine"?
Blue: You're either just happy we finally got Black representation in Deltarune, or you want his gender. Maybe both
Flowery: I don't believe you.
And as a bonus:
Pink: So how's the estrogen treating you?
For those struggling with the Chapter 5 final boss:
If you're tapping A/Z/whatever keybind you have to dash instead of charging up, there is a slight delay between when you press the button and when you actually start dashing (which can cost you when you need to parry Flowery/Orange's attacks). My guess is that this is because the game has to register that you're tapping the button instead of holding it to charge up, which takes just enough time to make the difference between making your dash in time and getting hit. You need to tap the button a little bit sooner than you think you need to in order to actually get the timing right. I beat Flowery first try after I realized this
(Also, as a side note, does anyone know what the difference between charging up a dash and just pressing the button even is? I assume charging lets you go further, but that's really only helpful for the pipes/bamboo attack pattern and I beat the fight without ever using it)
new strategy for the next nintendo direct. we ALL pretend like we don't care if they announce ace attorney 7. we would actually rather they DIDN'T announce it. maybe we can tsundere our way into aa7
please look at the name of this drink i saw at a boba place the other day

Guys
Ralsei's going to have a festival in Castle Town in Chapter 5. He can't go with Kris and Susie to the festival in the light world so he's going to make one he CAN go to with them
That's where the Addison selling Pipsi is going to come from
I'm not emotionally prepared for this
Who enjoyed the direct
I love and respect all living creatures. Even the tiniest microbe has some role to play in our vast, vibrant ecosystem.
But mosquitos can BURN. IN. HELL.
The only purpose mosquitos could possibly serve is to feed spiders. Their only purpose is to die. No one would miss these things if they went extinct tomorrow
Okay so Victorian erotica is literally the most heinous, morally bankrupt, horrific shit I've ever read - but I've read a fair bit, partly from historical interest but also because a while back I helped a friend with a university project she was doing about censorship and pornography in 19th century England.
Anyway I need to share with you all the most hilarious line that has ever been written, circa 1887:
I feel like this excerpt is significantly enhanced by knowing that the novel in question is a first-person narrative written from the perspective of an inexplicably sapient flea who lives on Bella's body, and that's why the third priest's penis is described in this way: from the narrator's perspective it literally blots out the sky.
me when im a flea
Character duo where one *remembers I don’t like fitting characters into trope boxes* is a completely fleshed out and realised person *remembers treating characters as real people and not story devices written with intent is bad* who is written by the author and *remembers death of the author* uh. And *fumbles and drops my pile of queue cards* ah fuck wait no *the menacing horse* what was that.
I love how each ace attorney protagonist has their own special game mechanic!
Phoenix Wright: has a magic rock that literally allows him to see locks in people's hearts whenever they're hiding a secret
Apollo Justice: through his bracelet and a special ability he inherited from his mom, he can detect when someone is lying when their finger moves a nanometer
Athena Cykes: is extremely sensitive to the emotions of others and has a special program that allows her to pinpoint which emotions the person in feeling
Miles Edgeworth: use your fucking brain

the leading edge
amazing that our own small creations connect us directly to the moment of our universe erupting out of nothing and the unfathomable power of existence itself and yet we look at our drawings or stories and are like 'this is bad.' bud it is not bad it is the leading edge of a billion years of beauty
