Genuine question here for a moment:

I have a VOTV fic that I’ve slowly been writing for the past few months. I never intended to share it but it’s getting to the point where I figure I might as well do something with it.

It’s a sona x canon type thing. Should I post it when I get to a state where I’m happy with it? I am truly not sure. It would be on a03 because I like a03 for posting fics.

so i was rewatching the votv lore videos and i realised something

Dr Ena Knows. she knows about the canary protocol enough to the point where her superiors could Threaten Her with it.

she doesnt seem to know the whole thing by the white text's (presumably Dr Bao's) words, but she knows enough.

this is also backed with her clearance lvl being 3, compared to Max's 1 and Kel's 0. Bao and Lea dont have numbered clearance, so 3 might be the highest "regular" lvl, with everyone above that being fully in the know.

(its burry but you can make out "LEVEL 3" just above the name section)

and like. that just Fucks Me Up. because imagine how she mustve felt when Kel was shipped off to his death and she couldnt do anything about it, cant talk to anyone about it, without risking her own death. she sends Kel gifts, little notes, and begs him not to die. but she knows.

baking those croissants with Max, listening to her talk about plans for what the three of them will do once Kel comes home, and she can only sit and smile and play pretend. she buys him the best packaged sushi she can find, because she knows it could very well be the thing that keeps him sane just a little longer. telling him that theyll listen to some of the nicer sounding signals once he comes home. but she knows.

does she blame herself? staying up at night, pondering what she could have done, how she couldve saved him. knowing there was nothing she couldve done. blaming herself regardless.

how difficult it mustve been for her to say goodbye.
