SANKOFA SERIES: DO FOR OUR PEOPLE.
It has been said: "You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only choice." We celebrate those who know that our future must be defined by us and not foreign imperialist or those who lecture others about "democracy and human rights" while all the while being the very violators of these principles. Keep moving forward together our dear brothers (Sons of Sankara). #AfricaWillRise#OneAfricanGiant
SANKOFA SERIES: FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS.
“For this end Africa needs a new type of citizen. A dedicated, modest, honest, and informed man. A man submerges self in service to the nation and mankind. A man who abhors greed and detests vanity. A new type of man whose humility is his strength and whose integrity is his greatness.” – Kwame Nkrumah

Lessons from nature.
Even a palm tree understands that (1) it has enemies and (2) that it must protect itself from the enemies that would prey on it. It furnishes itself with poisonous thorns as a defense. If you look closely and consider it’s defense, you will notice that the thorns are not intended for such things as ants or even a beetle. No. The palm tree has decided to guard itself against a much bigger threat. Perhaps the smaller threats it perceives as something that it can negotiate. Life lessons exist and are all around us. #AfricaWillRise #OneAfricanGiant
Summary: 2022 Monthly Reading Challenge.
We want to congratulate those of you who participated in our Monthly Reading Challenge. Thank you. We hope that you enjoyed the selection. Please keep in mind that we do not sell books. Rather, we recommend books that we believe may be engaging. We get lots of questions about where to obtain books. We are unable to assist in that area. However, we provide ISBN information to help locate books. We hope that this is somewhat helpful. Reading is foundational to Afrika's rise. #AfricaWillRise #OneAfricanGiant
A Moment of Ancestor Remembrance.
Before the start of the new year, we take a moment to remember and acknowledge our ancestors. We remember our ancestors. We remember those forcefully transported to Western Asia and who did not return. We remember those forcefully transported to the Western Hemisphere and who did not return. We remember those of the Diaspora who were unable to return home. We remember those who endured during the Scramble for Afrika. We take a moment. We acknowledge you all. We acknowledge the permanence of the human soul, the indestructibility of the human spirit, and the continuity of human life. Thus, the Adinkra symbol for Nyame nwu na mawu (I will die only when God dies) is used and placed three times faintly but visible to the observing eye. We are, and have always been, a great people. #AfricaWillRise #OneAfricanGiant
Afrikan Musician Week: Afrikan Artist Experience.
This week we celebrate grassroots Afrikan musicians on the Afrikan continent and in the Afrikan Diaspora. It has been an interesting year of change. We celebrate each day, ripe with positive possibilities. Afrikan artists are important contributors to our communities when they promote healthy, pro-Afrikan, positive messages.
ATTENTION: The rules are simple.
1. No music/videos that use racial slurs.
2. No music/videos with inappropriate lyrics (i.e., sexual, violence, disrespectful behavior, etc).
3. No music/videos that disrespect our Afrikan women; we have no tolerance.
We are, have always been, and remain a great people. #AfricaWillRise #OneAfricanGiant
We remember our ancestors.
Thank you for coming and demonstrating competent leadership, for all to see, at a time of ill narratives that Afrika lacks competent leaders with ethical character. You proved them all wrong, and you made a permanent statement to all who are quick to believe any and every bad report or report of hopelessness. You made a permanent statement to Afrika and the entire world: "Afrika is not poor. Afrika is rich." Rest in great Power. #AfricaWillRise #OneAfricanGiant
Sankofa Series: While Our Eyes Were Closed.
All too often, we hear our people say, “We lack good leaders.” Yet, the leaders that we’ve had have given us, have left us with many things to understand and learn from. One excellent example comes to mind: “When the missionaries arrived, the Africans had the land, and the missionaries had the bible. They taught us how to pray with our eyes closed. When we opened them, they had the land, and we had the bible.” –Jomo Kenyatta
What lessons can we take from this counsel? Keep a watchful eye open? Yes. That said, what other ‘superior knowledge’ are others attempting to ‘teach’ us that is contrary to our ancestors? And, are our eyes open or closed? #AfricaWillRise #OneAfricanGiant
Asante slogan: Wokum Apem a, Apem Bɛba.
"When a thousand are lost, a thousand shall be restored." The kɔtɔkɔ (porcupine) is the totem and emblem of the Asante nation. #AfricaWillRise #OneAfricanGiant
Sankofa Series: For Such A Time As This.

Sankofa Series: Emancipate Yourselves.
It’s been said by our ancestors, “Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery. None but ourselves can free our minds.” Too often, we hear that one-day Afrika will be free from foreign interruption. Yet, many spend significant effort to emulate the customs, the values, the traditions of those who are at work to impede our progress. Do we have no mothers? Do we lack fathers? No. The foreign names, the foreign images are but a pretext: a ruse of being ‘better’. Think for one moment. If what we have, if what our ancestors left us, is so inferior, then why do foreigners come from all over the world to take, to collect what we have? They make world-class museums of our cultural artifacts, and they study our cultures and histories at great length. They study it because they learn from it. We must see again the value in what was left to us for continuance – our cultures, ancestral counsel, cultural meaning, and wisdom were left to us to build upon and not stagnate. These were given for our endurance. We are, and have always been, a great people. #AfricaWillRise #OneAfricanGiant
Remembering Our Ancestors
Happy birthday! We celebrate Marcus Mosiah Garvey. Born this day in St. Ann's Bay, Jamaica, Aug. 17, 1887. Garvey was the founder of the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA). A fearless and relentless promoter of Afrikan self-determination and autonomy, Garvey led a renown ‘back to Afrika’ movement. Garvey said, "Men who are in earnest are not afraid of consequences." We are, and have always been, a great people. #AfricaWillRise #OneAfricanGiant
Sankofa Series: Communal Ethics and Personal Character.
Our ancestors modeled the excellent example for us to follow: Ma’at (i.e., truth, justice, rightness, propriety, harmony, balance, and order). We must return to what is culturally and uniquely Afrikan. Ma’at is the cultural observance that distinguishes us and our civilizations from among the other nations of the earth. We are, and have always been, a great people. #AfricaWillRise #OneAfricanGiant
Sankofa Series: Knowledge has been shared.
Afrika is not without renown scholars who endeavored to share their priceless genius exclusively with us. “Africa can and will only advance through integration which can be realized through the Federal United States of Africa.” – Cheikh Anta Diop

Black Afrikan Genius
The Kemites acknowledged that they came from up South, from the interior of the Afrikan continent near the Mountains of the Moon. The Mer, called pyramid by foreigners, is a symbol from our ancestors that testifies to the genius that is yet to come: a reemergence of yet another Afrikan renaissance. This will take place with the re-unification of the Afrikan continent. We are, and have always been, a great people. #AfricaWillRise #OneAfricanGiant
Sankofa Series: A United Afrika
We endured what other would not have survived; we remain. Our ancestors shouldered many blows. Demonstrating strength, they extended their personal dignity and faced insults, death, and difficult times for hundreds of years–a Great House sheltering future generations. To this day, their investment had but one aim: Complete freedom for their descendants. Culturally prosperous again to re-experience renaissance: the building of the next high civilization. We were told, “The rain does not fall on one roof alone.” This has been our collective experience. We are one. We are, and have always been, a great people. #AfricaWillRise #OneAfricanGiant
