Miles' Vision Schedule!!
appreciation for Miles' laughing/teasing expression when he asks Miguel "Dude, are you sure you're even Spider-Man?"
Itās still kinda wild that this is most likely miles first day as THEE prowler
Anyway I would love it if miles g actually did do some really messed up shit in btsv. Like taking enjoyment in hurting people or not particularly caring about the lives of innocents if they get in the way of him capturing bad guys.
Reading the new edge of the spiderverse and Jessica Drewās husband is intentionally hidden and he says heyā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦..
If I were to write a master post about the repeated usage of the term āgood guyā in reference to characters who do morally questionable things and how it ties into the overall themes in spider verse and its goal as a deconstruction of the superhero movieā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦.
Idk what if Margo is very escapist and basically figured out dimensional travel to get out of her shitty home life and the overall dystopian reality she probably lives in.
From what little we do know about her world itās heavily implied that she lives in a Ready Player Oneish world where everyone is chronically online. I donāt think id be far fetched to assume that it is likely a corporatocracy controlled by massive tech and media conglomerates whose sole purpose is to keep people online for as long as possible. Everything is artificial and nothing is human. Think everything wrong with the internet times 1000.Ā
Isolation and a lack of human connection, coupled with her parents loveless marriage, fuels her obsession with the past. She loves the 21st century the same way gen-zers love the early 2000s. The fashion and technology reminds us of a hazy, bygone era where everyone was a little bit more human. Technological limitations allowed for genuine connection in a way that is increasingly harder to find in our world and nigh non existent in Margoās.
Somehow she finds out about the multiverse. Collider shenanigans blase blah. She sees all of these different universes and the past, which she desperately longs for. A world where everything is simple and people go to real parks, and her parents love each other. Its not some maladaptive daydream that she acts out in her virtual house. Itās real. She just has to figure out how to get there.
She does, eventually. And itās probably the greatest thing sheās ever done. She goes on an absolute multi-dimensional bender and Consumes Everything. From the 70s to the Renaissance to the 22nd century. Shes so enthralled with these worlds and their quaint existence. She doesnāt even realize that sheās been totally neglecting her spider duties until sheās too late to stop a virtual heist.
No matter. She updates her avatar with the ability to split into multiples, so she can leave traces of her code in different universes that send a live feed to her monitor. This way she is not limited to one world. She sees everything all at once and imagines this might be how god feels.
All of her dimension hopping gets the attention of a certain 6ā9 Mexican Spider-Man from 2099. He asks her how sheās able to do it, and shows her his watch. He explains that itās a prototype and wants to compare notes so that they can maybe come up with a more stabilized version of it. Itās the first time an adult has ever taken interest in anything she does.
Anyway she is one of the first recruits of the spider society and her knowledge is invaluable to its development.
btw if they force miles to forgive miguel im gonna be so mad
Do you think that circadian rhythms are affected by dimensional travel
I hope you guys caught that Miles and Mayday being the only ones with day passes is a visual metaphor for how everyone in milesā life babies him
CAN I JUST SAY: Miles didn't say his father was still alive. I've scoured over everything he says on E-42 up to that point so many times and at! no! point! does Miles say that his father is still alive!
Now, maybe this is a change with the theatrical to the digital version--I remember vaguely that someone said something changed in his desperate tied-to-a-punching-bag speech to aaron, but I haven't been able to find that clip in any of the theatrical versions still up on youtube. so idk :( but either way, in the digital version, Miles doesn't say his father is still alive.
So Miles G. either used context clues (Miles 1610's shock at the mural, etc.) or... idk. Just that I guess. But it kind of makes the line "you said he's still alive" seem... even more... idk, vulnerable? illuminating? It betrays what Miles G is focusing on and what lens he's viewing the situation through way more than I think he means it to.
āPpl are saying that the guy who slammed a 15 yo black boy into a hyper speed train and called him a mistake hates children. Hereās why you are wrong!!!!!ā shut up and learn how to take a joke man
Shameik Moore is such a cornball man
I actually think hobie hates the Sex Pistols. Like in every other universe they are a manufactured boyband and that used outrage marketing to sell Vivienne Westwood but I like to imagine that in his world they are all of that AND probably a psyop created by the government to defang the youth movement
Thinking about the nature of black fatherhood in spiderverse
i think one way miles g would differ from his uncle is that he doesn't take orders from anyone š like aarons always working for someone right but i feel like miles just does whatever HE thinks is best (even if it's the stupidest thing you can do in a situation but he figures it out)
the re release seems like the perfect time to show the spider within
