Too often in media Black people period are questioned for why they're in fantasy, or supernatural stories. " Why is a mermaid Black?" " Why is that dwarf Black?" " Why is that knight Black?"
There's rampant biphobia and questioning of people's queer idenity as nonbinary or fear of being open about your Black queerness period...
Too often in media our stories as Black people are only accepted if it centers our pain. Very rarely are we given opportunity in mainstream media to have our whimsical and fun coming of age stories without black trauma at it's core. Our history is part of us, but we can have our " Juno's " , our " Twilights" , our " Hunger Games" ...etc.. too. We are able to be and should be present in all genres and tell all kinds of stories.
The Three Tomes aims to dismantle all of this. It's a Queer YA coming of age story about Tammy Harris, age 17. She lives in the Chicago Suburbs and is having her own adventure and dealing with grief and change through the magical lens of witches and vampires. The story centers on her, and a host of queer black and brown characters taking the lead. A Lesbian Witch, A gay Vampire priest, a gay Vampire villian, two bi, and pan vampire boys ( tammy's love interests) and Tammy's best friend who is nonbinary and black/indian mixed.

update; was able to meet my goal and clean the house but I’m still going to a shelter because this place isn’t good for me to live considering I still experience a lot of manipulation neglect and more frm my sister but since they require first months rent when you get accepted for a home? I feel like I gotta find some sort of job or income first before I just go because if ima stay in shelter for a long while before I get actual housing? ima need SOME sort of income if I wanna keep the house sooo.

To summarize; I did a blood test in April, but when the results came in, it showed that my liver is failing, so I can't get proper treatment and have to get this treated on top of all my other issues... I need to take another blood test on the 24 of july 2026 and need 500$ for my visit to a hepatologist after. I currently can't get a job and is on a waitlist for disability, but this is very urgent as my health is deteriorating rapidly...

I damn near just wanna give up bro like I haven’t been able to eat me and my sister have legit been arguing and like truly I can’t I just wanna get to a shelter at this point we barely have any cleaning supplies no good food and she has no sense of urgency for this whatsoever like genuinely this is truly what becomes of tbe house if I do not clean after my sister and her friends who leaves food to sit out until flies start attacking it even when I tell her “hey u and ur friends should put the food up when ur done instead of leaving it out” she goes “ohh they put the food up trust me it’s not gonna hurt for it to sit there”
WHY do you think the flies and maggots are even forming!? we have a hole in the trash can eggs in the can now enough flies that they’re hiding behind the BLINDS LIKE BRO this is disgusting and she literally just keeps making excuses for ts and then thinks that taking care of a house? is just paying for bills. we haven’t had a drier for a year or two now (I was working when our drier first broke down I asked her if she wanted to go half to get a new one she said no she’s asked her dad for help I knew her dad wasn’t going to help cuz he never does shit so now we’ve been without a drier for years) like BRO!

I’ve legit had to spray down most the house with raid from the family of flies that were living in both the trash and in our windows I had to throw away lots of food and I still don’t have cleaning supplies to sanitize nor get rid of this infestation in full. I really don’t want this to get worse and truly any support would help
