I really don't know why im here!, i disagree with 80% of what tumblr stands for, I only indulge in the most defined and high brow of comedy, such as: dank memes, Spongebob, Rick and Morty, Nicolas Cage and various other entities of which most folk just can't appreciate. I'm 21, enlisted, and if you try to say the nj devils aren't the most refined, gentlemen-like, squad of hockey players on the planet then i'll fight you, granted I would probably fight you if you claimed the egg came before the chicken, but i digress, if your easily offended, then you probably didn't make it this far down the description before going back, and if you did, congratulations this is uncharted waters your swimming in. try not to drown in all the my comedy genius and astute proclamations of the world, that was a really long way of saying i like potty humor in summation, butts lol

The fact that it was created to target muslims. Which he himself declared it would be. We have a lot of evidence of that, starting from his public declarations. And the judges can search the declarations of the president to understand his true intentions and motives when ruling whether an executive order is legitimate or not.
Also while the president has the power to stop immigration from one country with the purpose to protect the national security, it cannot act to stop a single religion from coming into the country because the constitution doesn’t allow this kind of discrimination.
Also this is an other case of the government acting where there is no reason to do it. Just look at the data form cato.org: “Trump’s executive order didn’t look at the most dangerous visa categories in recent history but rather singled out all migrants from seven Muslim countries for a temporary 90-day ban and focused the administration’s greatest scrutiny on the refugee program. But despite all of the attention paid to refugees, the chance of being murdered in a terrorist attack by a refugee on U.S. soil is only one in 3.64 billion per year. Only three such murders have ever occurred — all three instances were in the 1970s, and the attackers all came from Cuba.”
Also if you look at the numbers at Cato.org you will see that Migrants from the seven banned countries have also killed zero Americans in terrorist attacks on U.S. soil. In fact if you really want an order that could somehow protect the USA, you need to stop immigration from Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
So, it targeted Muslims yet conveniently left out 9 of the 10 most populated Muslim countries? Where is your “lots” of evidence aside from some hearsay that Trump originally said he wanted a ban on Muslims? Also, Judges cannot base the lawful precedent on supposed “intentions” and alleged “motives.” You’re just making that up.
This particular immigration executive order does not ban any particular religion, however, yes the President does have the authority to stop any group of people for any reason they deem necessary. It has absolutely nothing to do with the Constitution. Again, you are just making up your own facts.
You can claim that the government is acting for no particular reason, but you sure as hell were not saying that when Obama originally came up with this list or when he banned Iraqi refugees for six months back in 2011. By the way, that was in response to a thwarted terrorist attack in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It may have not been the “Bowling Green Massacre” as Kellyanne Conway gaffed but it was the refugee terrorist attack that could-have-been. So, while I would love to share Cato’s ideological confidence in regards to their statistical analysis, I’m perfectly fine with putting a temporary ban on the influx of foreigners in order to build a better vetting system just to be sure. That’s why countries like Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon, United Arab Emirates, and Pakistan are not banned. They already have a fairly solid vetting system. It has nothing to do with previous terrorists countries of origins and has everything to do with potential new terrorists coming from war-torn or radical fundamentalist hotbeds. Because forgive me for taking the actual word of the President of one the banned countries when he even admits that there are probably terrorists among the refugees from his country. Sometimes its better to be safe than sorry.

Well didn’t that travel ban ban people who entered the country legally and with all the proper papers and information?

Unlawful means not to authorized by law..
He’s banning people who already followed proper legal channels..
He’s interfering with innocent peoples right to travel under false pretenses..
He’s banned some muslim country’s and not others??
Youre more likely to be killed by an officer of the law than a muslim.. and even slimmer by a police officer whos a practicing muslim..
Please tell me what happens when the president issues an illogical executive order?
Sorry, but he is still authorized by law to ban even green card holders. As Daniel Horowitz writes, “The Immigration and Nationality Act (§ 212(f)) gives the president plenary power to ‘by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants.‘” So, it has nothing to do with whether they have come in legally or non-legally. The President has legal authority to halt all immigration all the same.
Furthermore, bringing up how he banned certain Muslim countries and not others is just adding more weight to the fact that this has absolutely nothing to do with religion. You dummies can’t help yourself but to debunk your own stupid arguments.
But to answer your question, there have been plenty of illogical executive orders issued by Presidents. It’s amazing that it took Donald Trump to finally alert you to gross negligence of the Executive office.
It’s unconstitutional deal with it the reason he didn’t ban other Muslims countries is because he has overseas money and business in those countries, further more not a shingle terrorist came from those countries plus 70% of all terrorist acts was from domestic us born citizens to which most of those were from white supremacist. Plus read the statute of Liberty, and if you don’t know it history is repeating itself cause before WWII we ban the Japanese then Pearl Harbor happen, now we are banning Muslims.
It is not unconstitutional. Both of you are just making up that assertion out of thin air. Just saying it does not make it so.
Also, your claim that Trump has “overseas money and businesses” in those other countries is another fabricated claim. 1) you have no clue what businesses Trump has in other countries without looking it up and 2) your claim would also theoretically cover every other majority Muslim country in the world. Do you think that Trump has business ties to Bangladesh and Nigeria? Singling out Saudi Arabia and Egypt where he had business ties is awfully convenient for this phony argument.
You also clearly read nothing that I wrote above. The temporary immigration ban has nothing to do with previous terrorists countries of origin. Furthermore, the ‘white supremacist terrorist meme’ is a complete lie. The SPLC’s list is also just a weak leftwing smear campaign. And if you must know, the Japanese Internment was orchestrated by Franklin D. Roosevelt, a progressive Democrat mind you, who did it as a favor to Californian union workers. The internment had absolutely nothing to do with Pearl Harbor because it happened over a year afterwards, you dope.
And just going to throw this out there because I’m sick of hearing it, the Statue of Liberty’s poem by Emma Lazarus means absolutely nothing. Despite what many idiots on the left were led to believe in their public school indoctrination, it has never defined or represented the immigration policy of the United States.
This executive order is clearly not a Muslim ban, you brainless peons.
So @ redbloodedamerica why did Trump ban those people from entering their country, if not because of their religion? Because it’s not like we have any evidence that they are terrorists or are likely to commit acts of terrorism… there’s really no reason to ban them, it makes no sense.
You could have actually read what I already posted above before asking that absurd question, @epicpython.
This is not difficult to comprehend. It is a vetting issue. You cannot logically vet hundreds of thousands of refugees who are coming from war-torn or belligerent countries that are lacking any competent records infrastructure. It has nothing to do with previous terrorist attacks for the umpteenth time.
Again, if he wanted to ban Muslims, he missed 9 out of the 10 largest Muslim populated countries.
So if it’s a vetting issue, you don’t think that a year is sufficient time to examine a refugee before we let them into the US? You don’t think that our current system is enough?
Remember that we haven’t had any terrorist attacks from these refugees, so I’m not sure where your evidence of our current system being insufficient is coming from. For example, George Bush suspended immigration immediately after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, while the US worked to increase airport security. We… haven’t had any attacks recently, or any reason to suddenly think our vetting process is no longer sufficient?
Oh, and if it wasn’t about religion, then Trump wouldn’t be promising to prioritize Christian refugees over Muslim ones. So that’s rather strange that he’s doing that, then. Source
“So if it’s a vetting issue, you don’t think that a year is sufficient time to examine a refugee before we let them into the US?”
I am not an expert on vetting personally, I can only go by what actual experts have claimed. So, when US National Counterterrorism Center Director states that there are gaps in the intelligence of refugee vetting and that terrorist organizations want to infiltrate the refugee population, I’m going to take his word. Not to mention, the FBI Director made identical claims and the CIA Director issued similar warnings. And I will also take the word of the new Homeland Security Chief that 120 day temporary ban will not hurt refugees that may have been waiting over a year or more.
So, personally speaking, no, I do not have confidence in our current vetting process. I do not even have confidence in any future vetting considering it mostly consists of interviews. Again, many of these people lack any verifiable backgrounds. Not to mention there is a huge market for fake passports.
“Remember that we haven’t had any terrorist attacks from these refugees, so I’m not sure where your evidence of our current system being insufficient is coming from.”
Goddamn, you are slow. I have now said this four separate times in this thread alone: This has nothing to do with previous terrorist attacks. This is all about preventing possible terrorists from committing future attacks.
And again, if you actually read everything above prior to asking your stupid questions you would have read how two Iraqi refugees were aiding al-Qaeda from Bowling Green, Kentucky in 2011. In 2014, an Iraqi refugee in Texas plead guilty to trying to help ISIS and wanted to set off bombs at Houston malls. And here are twelve instances of refugee-turned-jihadis from 2015 alone. This is exactly why the Obama administration did nearly the same thing.
“How would you improve it then?”
Personally speaking again, I would cease all domestic refugee resettlement. There is simply no logical reason we need to allow hundreds of thousands of people from other countries into our country. There are smarter ways to show our compassion like setting up refugee camps in their own countries or in neighboring countries so they can move back into their country of origin easily once the conflict or persecution has ended. Our current system is neither sensible or cost-effective. It’s just a gigantic liberal social experiment into multiculturalism.
“Oh, and if it wasn’t about religion, then Trump wouldn’t be promising to prioritize Christian refugees over Muslim ones.”
Well, remember, Christians are also part of the immigration halt in these particular countries as well. So, that still blows up your idiotic argument that it is somehow a “Muslim ban.” Yes, Trump’s executive order claims we will give priority to persecuted Christian groups, who received the shaft from the previous administration, but that does not mean the order is somehow negatively targeting another religion on purpose. It is not.
@redbloodedamerica is such a fake bitch he takes exhaustingly long periods of time to make no real point beyond the fact that he is a bigoted intolerant lame fuck asshole constantly trying to justify that unjustifiable position while pretending to be ron swonson as perhaps one of the absolute lamest tumblr personas one can find around these parts. u talk entirely too fucking much to not be talking about a gotdamn thing. and then on top of that he’s a coward when it comes to engaging discourse or a superior intellect his feeble mind just can’t seem to handle. par for the lazy wannabe political pundit white boy in a dark basement with no weed ass course
Big words coming from an unabashed racist Afrocentrist who appears to be lauding a guy who brutally slaughtered, tortured and enslaved several ethnic groups in Ethiopia.
You’re right, I cannot handle your superior intellect or run-on sentences. I’m sure you would have brought a great deal of insight on this topic but your grade school level trolling is too much to manage.
