The thing is… it wasn’t like "The fans wouldn’t be happy with any ending".

It was that Season 9 was flawless and everything in the whole series ACTUALLY DIDlive up to its hype.

And they deliberately DELIBERATELY  cashed all that out in the interest of looking clever and having one more twist.

It wasn’t good or rewarding or earned.

It was just a twist for the sake of being a twist.
