El proyecto “Perfect Day México” busca convertir a Mahahual en un nuevo destino internacional de cruceros para 2027; organizaciones civiles

Royal Caribbean busca desarrollar en Mahahual, Quintana Roo, uno de los complejos turísticos para cruceros más grandes del Caribe llamado “Perfect Day”, un mega parque acuático que promete atraer miles de visitantes internacionales y se espera entre en operaciones hacia 2027. Sin embargo, organizaciones ambientalistas advierten que el desarrollo podría general impactos irreversibles en una de las zonas ecológicas más sensibles del Caribe mexicano. El proyecto, de acuerdo con información de El País y Greenpeace, tendrá una inversión estimada en 1,000 millones de dólares y pretende recibir hasta 21,000 visitantes al día en una localidad donde viven alrededor de 2,600 habitantes Debido su cercanía con el Sistema Arrecifal Mesoamericano, considerado el segundo arrecife de coral más grande del mundo organizaciones como Greenpeace México y Defendiendo el Derecho a un Medio Ambiente Sano (DMAS) sostienen que la construcción podría afectar manglares, dunas costeras, acuíferos y especies marinas de la región.

The minister says the situation in Cuba is "extremely tense", as a US-led blockade of oil to the country causes widespread power cuts.

Fucking sickening, heartbreaking, disgusting. Hospitals, ambulances, water pumps, so much infrastructure shut down and so many lives hurt and lost because of it, all of this at the whim of the world's most brutal empire because they can't stand to have their will resisted so close to their shores by a society that has chosen time and time again to stand proud for the dream of a better world, a world without this blood-soaked hegemony.

In light of the no.1 trending topic on this site, I'd like to inform youse that Kitty Kendall, one of the survivors who bravely spoke out against Neil Gaiman and accused him of rape in 2025, has said here and here that if you are looking to support her and other survivors, you can make a donation to OurVOICE (the counselling service Kendall herself used) or your local rape crisis centre. If you can't make a donation, you can help to ensure people do not forget what Kendall and other survivors have gone through and continue to go through as they pursue legal action, and that Gaiman has already spent a lot of money in the attempt to sue these women for speaking out.
