Sometimes I think about Tolkien visiting Lewis on his deathbed (despite having grown apart somewhat in later years) and meeting Lewis's stepson Douglas (who had already lost his mother and his biological father by this point) and Tolkien telling Douglas that he was welcome to live with his family if he needed somewhere to go, and Douglas not remembering until later that Tolkien had been orphaned too.
