Plumbing problems

Various issues to deal with. There is a lack of isolation valves, so removing old basins and shower needs shutting of water at source, and in the case of the show, emptying the entire attic water tank. Also, many compression joints suggests a DIY installation. These are not as reliable as soldered joints. They can leak gently for decades and cause wood rot and mold.

The cellar plan is deceiving. The site slopes gently down from bottom left (garage) to top right. The cellar just represents three voids between floor support walls - the crawl space extends under all the plan except the front of the kitchen which is solid, being the original scullery.

Welcome to the house. Built in 1930. First owner was a stone mason who ran a business in Nine Elms. It has been neglected for the last 15 years and only occassional work was done previously. Let’s take it step by step.
