Oh wow I remember reading and watching videos on Everquest Next back in 2013 cause I played a little of everquest 2 and Planetside 2 back then 2012-13 by the same company, and kind of forgot about it in later years because I was big on SoE's other great mmo called Planetside 2 which stuck with me for years on end.

Now I remember Everquest Next got canceled, because now I play the eq franchise and read and watch it, and what could have been eh? Sad really...the music still exists.

The EverQuest Next Landmark development was such a wild ride. The idea to make it more Minecraft-y. The bold character designs to be totally different from EQ and EQII. The idea to release the world without an actual game to play. Unexpected business moves for sure. I have no idea if it would have found it's players in the end - had it not been cancled with a comment like: "It was not fun to play." But I do know that I would have liked to see it live ad play it myself.

Planetside 2 always looked nice in the All Access pass but I did never try it out.

I am still, to this day, pissed off about EQ Next. I was one of the morons who dropped $100 for the early access etc, and played what they released of Landmark. It was awful, but I still had high hopes for the EQ Next part of it.... and then they pulled the rug.
