I’ve been needing to do another creative activity outside of photography.

We’ll be having new beginnings in California here soon. And one thing I threw out into the universe (and to my husband) was sewing.

I used to hand sew clothing for my stuffed animals when I was 11-12. But I really want to activities indoors during extreme weather.

Well Black Friday was good to me! And I invested in the Singer Tradition 2277 for $77! It’s $135 on Amazon normally.

I felt like under $100 was a good budget for a new hobby.

My mom has been having tons of fun doing crafts with me and I swear I’ve been to JO-ANN like every other day for the past week.

So I documented my first sewing project: making Christmas stockings. I decided not to use an interface.

Fabric was 40% off on top of additional 15% off!

I bought enough for 10 socks 🧦 and paid $12!

So I went to Chick Fil A with Jordan tonight and told 2 employees Happy Halloween.

I totally forgot how religious this place is because I might as well have said “Hail Satan”. I feel really bad. 😞

Guilty mom thoughts

I just hope my daughter grows up knowing I’m pushing myself to make my goals come true, and she can have a career in any field she wants.

I hope my daughter doesn’t get sucked into our society mentality of you aren’t worthy unless you have a “real job”. I hope she sees that my long hours working and finding good people to watch her (If daddy or Mimi can’t) isn’t me picking my job over her.

I just hope she doesn’t feel that way.

Guys I feel like a kid on Christmas.

I have 2 gigs back to back out of town. I’ve been freaking out about childcare — until my husband said he can take our daughter to work and I should just get a hotel at Joshua Tree.

I’m kinda crying.

A bed.. all to myself.. no husband snoring. Said husband is the one staying up with the baby at 3am 😍

I get to sleep in and then make a coffee.

And drive to my next gig...

Guys Im dying. What did it feel like to not have kids or other responsibilities?!

The feeling I had being young and in college with minimal responsibilities and time to watch Netflix is hitting me.

I’ve been needing to be inspired

The toughest thing about making art your business is that the ratios are never 50/50.

Once it becomes a business, it is usually 80% just that.

I needed to take time off to remember why I’m doing this and what inspires me.
