I think it's insane that even in the most leftist and "progressive" spaces the idea of equating morality with looks is alive and present and no one fucking bats an eye at it. like racists and mysoginysts are always portrayed as fat and hairy and generally unkept, as a contrast to the morally good and attractive leftists of course; people will have no problem being genuinely fucking awful about someone's appearance if they're deemed to be a "bad person". and the worst part is you point all of this out and people act like you're reading too much into things like no dude you gotta start using your brain more

don't go into the humanities because they're unprofitable and don't go into stem cuz its getting torn apart right now and don't go into buisness because it's competetive and speculative and don't go into education because it pays like shit. Just lay on thr ground. Just lay on the ground.

Actually there is one other common refrain I'd been meaning to address so while I'm at it: I see a lot of people say "I'll start learning x language once I have some free time"
Not to be an ogre but I would not recommend this. I actually think that when you're busy is the perfect time to start learning a language. When you start out is when even small amounts of engagement with your target language are highly mentally taxing. That's precisely why when youre early on in the process of learning a language you should learn in only very small doses, as little as 5 minutes a day is actually ideal, and this is affected very little by other factors like well-restedness or time to focus. If anything, a time when you have more free time is the point at which you want to be getting on to an intermediate level in the language and can cognitively "afford" to spend more time actively learning it.
Ultimately while it's easy to convince yourself that there is, there's almost never any benefit to putting off learning a new language and there is no real way to make up for lost time. The best time to start learning that language you've always wanted to learn was 5 years ago and the next best time is today, like literally today. Right now.

Sometimes I randomly remember how the most important people of my life from like 6-7 years ago are not in my life at all anymore and that's sort of terrifying and also crazy to realize how you actually can survive loss beyond your comprehension and find happiness stronger and more suited for you if you keep going
